Some of the little turns and awareness and passing as the game went on was class. The one for Engels deserved better.

Mixed bag as he was poor especially first 20. Best of a bad lot in CM today.

 

First 45mins, absolute shocker (not alone)
Thereafter grew into game and was our best midfielder by the end.

 

That’s on rodgers that. I personally was calling for him off but he obviously sees him every day and in his mind knows who his most skilful/effective midfielder is. Hes a big game player and has proven it today. We played * and still one.

Ran himself into the ground. Look dead after 90 minutes but was then our most involved player during extra time, if Engel's controls that pass we're praising him as a game winner.
To take a penalty with that much composure after 120 minutes was class though, then he hobbles around during the celebrations

 

Thought he was * for pretty much the full first half, really sloppy with the ball and weak physically but he came onto a game and was brave and strong on the ball and made better use of it and showed good running power as the game went on then stuck his penalty away well.
Hopefully turning a corner because I feel he's been more poor and sloppy than good for a while.

 

He was a disgrace the first half.

On the 5 minute mark, when your supposed to be fresh and ready to rock, we had a throw at their corner end, and he was the only player free.... Walking about. WALKING. Ball thrown to him, bounces right past him out of play.

His attitude reeks.

 

Thought he was our best midfielder yesterday, controlled the latter stages of the game.

 

Grew into the game and ended up our best midfielder by a distance.

 

That pass for Engels is what Rio is all about, why Engels never took it on his right peg I'll never know.

 

Was going mad about him in the match thread in the first half. Second half onwards he was immense, fair play to him! Keep her lit.

 

His pen was a * screamer.

 

He had a shaky first 15 then settled in, he never hides and always gives it his all. His stamina has definitely improved as he actually now improves into a game, he may not be at his best but still a key player.

 

Dug meat first half but just got better and better as game went on, amazing stamina towards the end

 

I'm genuinely at the point where I don't want to watch him play for us anymore. I would sell at the first reasonable offer. A pitiful waste of talent. Too many infuriating aspects of his play/mentality to list. Get rid.

 

Again his finishing was pathetically bad. Did he hit the target with anything?

Didn't play passes that were on. Held on to it too long at other times when the shot was on..

But then we rely on him a lot as well to unlock the door..

 

Was our best midfielder again today. Not that the competition was great, but he looked the most likely.

 

He still has the same bad habits as 2022. All the ability in the world and hes wasting it, no matter what his form is he is leaving in the Summer. It should be to a Sevilla/Villa,Dortmund but it’ll be for a Lille/Gladbach, Girona.

 

What a half hour he had there . Countless class passes and a banging goal.
