As a football club we should have absolutely nothing to do with gambling companies, * parasites

Aye. But until there's a blanket ban in football, and playing in Scotland. We'll always go where the cash is unfortunately.

Just glad there's no joint sponsorship deal in place.

Can't see there ever being a blanket ban, money comes first and alot of money is pumped in by bookies

Sorry, but sports and bookies just go together, and always will... Sit in a pub when a match is on and you'll see folk checking results/bets constantly and others running in and out to put bets on. There's no busy sports pubs without at least 1 bookies nearby.

Exceptionally harmful habit for some, without doubt, but it IS legal, most people do actually use it (mostly) responsibly and they support a lot of clubs and keep them in existence at lower levels through sponsorship and other infrastructure.

It's a * catch-22, but I'd rather have betting crowds than alcohol sponsors, and definitely 1000000% versus (legitimate!) companies like that arms company who sponsored the German team...

Edit: for the record, I'd happily take a little less money and team up with a really good, ethical company - I'm not saying that our soul is for sale, driven by the highest offer!

Don't care that it's a betting company just wish their logo didn't look so naff on our kits every year. Aways not so bad but proper ruins the hoops with that hideous yellow logo.

Don't get me wrong mate I have a punt but I've been in and around the game since I was kid, unlike alot I'm fairly responsible when it comes to gambling, plus I've been banned from pretty much all the big boys online so I only use exchanges.. I've seen way more people's lives ruined by gambling than drugs and alcohol put together..

Anyway most of us know the traps of gambling, I just feel for a club our size and resources we should be looking at something a bit better than dafabet and the likes to be advertised on our jerseys..

Does anyone know what sort of figures are involved?

Apparently when la liga banned gambling sponsors, most clubs moved to financial services. Some of the white label gambling companies you see on EPL shirts are probably owned by financial companies anyway. Doesn't really bother me either way but I find the finances of it all quite interesting.

    Both can be gripes.

Would rather we don't have a betting company at all (or alcohol).

Can equally find it weird that we would use an Asian company that doesn't operate in the UK. Considering when that deal was struck (pre the Japanese and Korean lads coming in), then what was their target market - as it was never Celtic fans it would seem.
