Yes, there's a sign with loads of Celtic stickers that signals it.

I posted this 28th September and was there just over 2 weeks later. My family surprised me for my 50th birthday. I had no clue. Absolutely loved it and such a nice feeling of familiarity about the stadium. Plenty of other Celts there too.

    Was there on Sunday

Where the Uber drops you off you pass through what looks like old turn styles to a large gate looking into the stadium. A lot of supporters stickers here. Walk back to the road, go down to the left about 100 yards and into the next gate where the security guards meet you and point you in the right direction. Free reign to walk about, they just don't want you on the grass. Ask to go to the end of the tunnel, they let us go to the end of it then shut it off afterwards. Up at the directors box it is Perspex glass closing it off but if you walk through to the middle of it there's a bit low enough to step over. There were 5 of us there and must have been another 12 - 15 Celtic tops there at the same time. Gave the guard (Peter) 40 euro when we were coming but as someone said before they're not standing with their hands out looking for it.

My daughter has the Uber App........

Lisbon to the ground 20 Euro
Coming back 10 Euro (don't ask me how)

Lisbon to and from the airport 20 Euro each way (Pick up at the airport P2)

I didn't know what Uber was about but when ordering the app pinpoints exactly where you are so you don't need to know your location and they come within minutes so don't order till your ready

O' Gilans the Irish pub near the station, reasonable prices

The plane was full of people going to the stadium. Spoke to someone who went on the Saturday but the stadium was closed as there was a game on. We were lucky, we were going on Saturday but hangovers put it off till Sunday. Best to pre check

Everything spot on mate. What was the weather like in Lisbon. We were there 15th to 21st October and it was about 25-28° every day. Got a great wee colour in my face just milling around. I looked like a fukin ghost when I arrived.

T shirt and shorts all last weekend, 20/21. Sitting out last Monday before the flight with the sun on our nappers and flew into Edinburgh that night to minus 3 and scrapping the ice off the car

I was the same as you with the Ubers but my lad travels all over Europe watching football and knew the drill. We got off the train at the wrong spot coming back from Stadio but he called Uber and literally there in 3 minutes and was €7 back to the apartment. Here it would have been a £20 fare. Amazing city and will be back. Best of food and reasonably priced wherever you go. Smell the grass everywhere. Even Aul timers smoking all over.

It was superb mate. We arrived early Tuesday and got into our hotel, quite quick too. Straight into an uber and out to the stadium. It was surreal to say the least and this auld fud got a wee bit emotional..... more so when when my youngest laddie said he brought someone with him too, and pulled from his pocket my late brothers Celtic ring. He was about 17yr older than me and he was the one that took me to all the Celtic games when I was growing up. He made Milan in 70 but never got to Lisbon...... Well now in a way a wee part of him did.

Weather was great, we stayed for a couple of hrs before heading back. Glad I did it and even more so with my 2 Bhoys

Lisbon was amazing told the Mrs I'll take her there next year.

Thanks for your pointers, mate it was much appreciated... HH

I hope everyone going/been seen/noticed the plaque on the wall to commemorate our win (its in my profile pic) its in the area that you meet the security guard or it was when we went in May. Already planning on going back to Lisbon next year as its a stunning city and the people are so friendly. Next year we plan on going to Porto and spending time there first then getting the train to Lisbon.

Seen the plaque, never mentioned it as the the first thing that the security guy did was take us over to it. Going for 3 days next November, might do it again but will definitely do one of the stadium tours, any idea which is the best, Sporting or Benfica?

I noticed the plaque the security guard never mentioned it to us. Aye when we go back next year I hadn’t thought about going back to the stadium as Ive done it now but maybe will do it again will see.
I haven’t done either stadium tour so cant say what one is better or not Buster. If I was to pick one it would be Sporting for the obvious reason lol.
Tbh I’m still getting over the shock of being pulled up by a Sporting fan for saying Sporting Lisbon to him… as its seemingly Sporting (CP) Portugal !!! Yet all my life Ive known them as Sporting Lisbon - I can still vaguely remember beating them 5 nil at Parkhead way back in the day.

Bit more Lisbon info for folk -

For getting around the metro is superb and not expensive - buy a travel card and pre load it with euros and you get cheaper ticket prices. There is a couple of city bus tours to choose from and I’d recommend doing that, not expensive and you get to see lots. Also you can use Ubber but there is also something called Bolt - same idea as uber but its a bit cheaper seemingly and the drivers get paid slightly more from what Ive been told. We used it and it was reliable/cheap/efficient fast.

The only moan I would have about Lisbon is - they say its built on 7 hills… no, its built on 7 * mountains… * me you will walk up and down all day - except when at the shore front which is stunning as well - but its worth it.as its easily in the top 3 cities Ive visited, Its just a superb city.

If anyone has info on Porto feel free to post it please :)
