Honestly it shows how much we've improved in Europe this season when we're raging at not winning this game. Used to get beat last minute in these games so I'm quite happy with result

Exactly. Our expectations seemed to have absolutely ballooned off one brilliant performance against RB. We are more than holding our own against similar level teams this season after years of failing to do so.

Should be qualified but now we’ll be sitting on tenterhooks against YB.

Personally delighted with first half of the CL campaign but the 2nd half has been disappointing. 2 points off Brugge and Zagreb not good enough for me

Both Zagreb and Brugge have shown in their other matches that they are no mugs TBH. If we can beat Young Boys at home, that would be 10 points from 12 at home in the CL and 2 away draws. Frankly, that would be a spectacular campaign by the standards of the past 12 years.

    That's my fear.

Could've put to bed any doubts with 4/6 points from the last two games. Both of which were extremely achievable, especially tonight.

Now we're essentially in a win or bust scenario vs Young Boys. Obviously that's another winnable game, but the pressure will be immense when it didn't need to be. That's the frustrating thing for me, the lack of application and/or bottle to get the job done.

It’s all in our hands. We couldn’t have asked for more, 2 games to go a draw guarantees us qualification. What’s not to like!!!

Quite a big gap between some of the bottom teams.. 10pts, may be enough..

    Strong position..

24 out of the top 26 for me after tonight- everyone placed 27-36 have run their race I reckon

    Currently 19th in the table.
Man City, Juventus, Feyenoord can leapfrog us tomorrow if Juve draw with Man City they will both be on same number of points as us (9) but better GD. and a Feyenoord win puts them on 10pts.

    Leipzig officially can't catch us.

Salzburg and Girona are all but out, they could both still finish on 9 points but both teams have really difficult games as the remaining two, very unlikely they win both. Shaktar are 99% out as well, they effectively need to win away to Dortmund to have any chance of qualifying. Zagreb have 8 points but they face Arsenal and Ac Milan next, almost certainly out as well.

The likes of Young Boys, Strum Graz, Bologna, Sparta Praha and Slovan are all effectively out as well, all would need 3 wins in their remaining games and all 3 have really tough games coming up. If Feyenoord don't win tomorrow they'll be in big trouble too.

There's a small chance PSG don't get through too, they face Man City and Stuttgart away, need to win at least one of them, two draws might be enough but would be cutting it close.

There's a good chance 9 points would be enough to qualify (something like a 75% chance) but 10 would all but seal it, 11+ would guarantee it.

13 points wouldn't be enough to get us top 8. 15 might be enough, but we'd need a lot of favours from other teams.

Before a ball was kicked, if someone had offered us to be 2 points ahead of the team in 24th with a home game to come against Young Boys, I’m pretty certain nearly all would have snapped the hand off. Folk seem desperate to try and turn the result tonight into a catastrophe, which it certainly isn’t.

AC Milan could well get 9 out of 9 in the next 3 ( red star/ girona at home and then a trip to Zagreb). If they do they surely make the top 8.. good for us as I wouldn't fancy an Italian team playing away from home in Zagreb with little to play for

Essentially a point against young boys gets us through, I'll take that tbh. What better carrot for the players to go out and smash them.

I think we need to win that game to make sure. I know 10 is very likely but I don’t want to have to play Villa needing something as they will likely need something to make sure of top 8 the way it’s working out.

It’s a long way, away now which although gives us time to improve our form, Young Boys may pick up form by then. Missing out on getting to 11 points tonight is far from ideal. Especially given the tepid nature of our performance.

We really have created a high pressure game for ourselves in that game. But back to domestic duty as they have a cup final to win.

Mind you if we got wins for Atletico, Lille, Milan, combined with Benfica avoiding defeat to Bologna and ideally a winner in Juve vs Man City,
It doesn’t matter who, then we would be in a really strong place.

A real bonus would be Stuttgart and Young Boys drawing and Feyenoord and Sparta Prague drawing. The Dortmund vs Barca and Monaco vs Arsenal games don’t really matter to us.

I suppose I see it differently. Hope the crowd on the night aren't as nervous as you about it as it'll creep into the players psyche as well.

We have everything to play for, they are out on their *. It should be a total mismatch and we are already favourites for it.

If we can't beat them then we don't deserve to progress anyhow so I don't see it as pressurised at all. It's the game you'd pick on paper for this situation.

Some fair points but I would say the last two performances when in a similar position all be it against teams with something to play for we have gone into our shell to an extent and failed to perform.

I do agree if we can’t beat Young Boys at home then we don’t deserve to go through.
I think my disappointment in tonight’s result comes as a bit of a combination of the last two games. We did the hardest bit of getting 7 points, mainly the 4 from The three toughest teams we faced and when matched with similar level teams we have managed two draws.

Don’t get me wrong qualification to the playoffs is progress and meets expectations following the draw. I just think it was all there for the team to really take a giant leap forward and give ourselves a big coefficient boost and financial boost too. Particularly tonight where they had so many first team players missing, I know a lot of people can talk about look where they are in the table but they won those points with their captain playing, main striker, another top young midfielder and that’s not the team we played tonight. If we want to really show progress in Europe that should have been a win tonight.
