I've got no concerns about him at all..

However, he probably didn't contemplate having to fight for a starting slot..

I honestly think that competition can only bring the best out in all our midfielders.

 

Arne came back in and took his call well and played well thereafter. Were you pleased with his contribution?

Yes, it's just going to be time. I think I won't even begin to judge Arne until this time next year. I mean, once he's come in and had a year and settling into everything and seeing how we play. Because it's complex, there's a lot of real technical ideas needed in the game. He's receiving the ball in lots of tight spaces. Before, in the team he played with, he was more running into space.

But it was great for him to arrive because that's what we expect from a race, to get in the box, to be close to scoring. You've seen the look at the crossbar, and it was close in the first half. But Arne got into the areas that we wanted him to be in and finished it really well.

 

Seemed to be better today. The goal and a couple decent chances. I do wonder if he is better on the left side of the three.

 

Definitely a bit better in those early stages..

Some good corners as well..

* to see that non celebration from him yesterday, he struck me as someone who wouldn’t let the outside noise affect him. The criticism has all been media driven too, our fans all seem to understand where he’s at and even if most prefer Bernardo atm, very few are on Engels’ back.

Looking more and more like a complete dud. Started decent the first few games then fell away to * and never came back.

Starting to get sick of the sight of him.

He may well come good but for the money we've spent on him, he's been * miles off it so far. Weak as *, largely rotten delivery from set pieces, slow and sloppy on the ball.

 

That was a really, really poor cameo. Looked like he had a chip on his shoulder from the moment he came on. Gave the ball away for fun and that free kick right at the death summed him up. Should be nowhere near the team on Sunday.

 

There's genuinely no difference between you and Blochairnbhoy.

Disagree with the toughen up comments tonight, but I agree that he's adjusting to the physicality required of him here. Both times he went down were obvious fouls. They just weren't given.
