Adam Montgomery

Good to see him back and training. It was a shame that both of his loan moves got ruined by rotten luck with injuries, basically his entire season written off. Whether he is likely to make it here long term or not is beside the point.

 

What's happening with Montgomery anyway. Was he on the trip to the States?

 

He’ll never cut it here, hopefully he’s moved on for a fresh start elsewhere

 

Yeah, just wondering because he's still officially on the books, but we've not heard a peep about him for months.

 

No doubt injured again

 

Have to say I have no idea why we gave Montgomery a new deal he was clearly miles off what we need in that position.

 

We seem to be quite good with young players when they get bad injuries in allowing them the time to recover here, still making a wage. Rather than them dropped out and without a club due to injury

 

Because it would've been a bit * to let an academy boy go in May when he wasn't due back from injury until December.

This at least gives him a good chance at a month/6 weeks training with good quuality players then hopefully a decent loan spell that sees him find a good club in the summer.

 

Was it not something like a 1 year extension when we had him to 2026 anyway that we gave him though? I agree with the sentiment if he had been out of contract but he still would have had 18 months from now.

 

Yeah I wrong, thought his deal ended in 2024 but the report on the last page seens to suggest it was 2025 before the new deal, yeah not sure then unless BR rates him.

 

He had a few good games for us when still very young and I remember quite a few (me included) thinking he might make it here. His form then dipped a bit and was loaned out. Would be interesting to see him play as he always had speed and could beat a man and in that picture he looks like he's put on a bit of muscle. Could he be another Ralston??

 

It was Dawson I think we gave an extra year when his deal was up but he has got crocked again, so will be in the same boat come next summer.

So it was, knew there was someone in that situation but couldn't for the life of me think who it was.

 

Can’t be giving Montgomery game time when frame and Anderson look so promising

 

Unless he looks better than them.

Not a fan of Montgomery, seen enough to know he won't cut it here. Not a fan of Doig either, overrated. Would rather keep Valle if it is possible.
