I got brutally dumped a few times, it gets slightly easier second time around lol. I found not drinking was very important as it only made things worse so i always stayed sober when dumped. I also found the book Stop Thinking Start Living very helpful and Alan Watts on you tube lol. Chin up if you can matey...maybe a rangers loss or draw will help lol.

    You weren't listening, were you?

As others have said, drink will only weaken your defences and you'll do or say something you'll wish you hadn't. Get yourself surrounded by good mates

Sounds like you invested a lot in this relationship, and it was not reciprocated. I always feel a good relationship depends on 50/50 input from both partners, and that can cover a lot of scenarios. If you are not getting that kind of input from the other person, then its maybe time you questioned the validity of the relationship.

Just remember the world does not revolve around her, and don't put her up on a pedestal.:50:

No far off this time last year I was in same boat..

Just * off out the ex missus gaff after 12 and a half year, 2 weans and was in a bad way. Panic attacks. Collapsing and my maw and brother had to barricade me in the kitchen as I lost the plot and was running about in just my pants at 11 o'clock at night freezing and can't remember much, had kitchen knives and why they wouldn't let me out the door..

Thought that was the end of me..

A year on and 7 months in with a cracking lassie, just about to get keys to my own council flat for the first time, battered the gym and much happier. My weans happier as well..

It's rough as * man and I wouldn't wish it back on any * but surround yourself with good people, keep busy and active and focus on yourself for now. Chin up my man I guarantee you'll come out of it ok :50:

I repeat what I said previously on this thread.
No person, male or female is worth that kind of pain and anguish.

Have a bit of self respect and pride, and leave them far, far behind.
And tanning the bottle won't help either, because it is a depressant.

It's hard to see when you are in the thick of it but times get better. I can be a big safty and have taken break ups bad in the past but time really does heal and you can learn from the experience. @Sloth McCausland things will get better mate. Get lost in computer games, films, box sets for a bit.

I've only ever done the breaking up in the past but my advice to anyone who is struggling is always stay busy, particularly things that bring you joy like hobbies and spending time out the house with friends/family and exercise

If I was single I'd play a * tonne of golf @Sloth McCausland - get yourself some clubs

When I was 15 my girlfriend dumped me and I was so devastated for 6 months I used to say goodnight to her out my window every night. Then she came back to me and I was chuffed to bits, then she dumped me again one week later.
I'm no casanova but one thing I learned is that it takes about 6 months max and she will be out your system. Next year she'll be texting you saying she wants to talk about something and only you can understand, by which time you'll have moved on and will chuckle to yourself.

Funny how time heals. Its as if your mind and body are set to recovery mode.
Sometimes the world takes something away from you to clear space for something new.
Now its time to grab an opportunity.
Give yourself the best chance to improve your life once you feel that surge of energy because you have nothing enabling you or holding you down anymore.

Mate this is just turned Into the norm that all women say their ex was a narcissist.
Stops them doing any work on their own issues.
It's something that needs to be diagnosed but now every person with a tiktok is mental health expert and doctor

What's that old cliche again ?

" There's plenty more fish in the sea "
    It's true :giggle1:

Play the field and don't get too hooked up on one, until you know for sure.
    And you will know.
