The fee is ridiculous based on what we've seen so far. Isn't worth more than Bernardo who we paid £3.5m(?) for.

Hopefully not another example of Rodgers' wastefulness in the transfer market. I was always worried about us opening the purse strings for Rodgers' guys.

 

He really didn't look that good in his YT videos , I remember trying to find a few different ones after I had seen a few . That's why we were all confused but reassured ourselves he was a DM.

 

Really hope it's not a mentality issue with him because it all seemed to start in Dortmund after a pumping.

He seemed to be decent enough before that and hasn't managed to recover. Looks completely devoid of confidence or not interested. Whichever one it is, BR needs to sort out pronto or he could just lose his place and we're left with an £11m dud.

 

Folk would do well to remember he has 3 goals and 6 assists for us so far btw. 3 of those assists in the Champions League.

 

Let's be honest, he's stinking the place out something chronic with some of these 'performances'..

Literally hiding in plain sight and hugging the touching when they're waltzing through the centre of the pitch. Backing out of challenges. I've commented on both of these a few times now and highlighted him doing it right at the start of the second half at Tynecastle the other day..

Looks a shadow of his early showings. Doesn't look like a sitting type at present. Doesn't look physical enough. Doesn't look mobile enough. His passing isn't there either. Doesn't look particularly great infront of goal..

Needs a rocket up his *. His fee isn't his fault but for 11 mill, we should be getting a lot more for our money, effort for a start..

Exactly. He looked good as the deep lying defensive midfielder, pinging accurate long distance passes and making cruical interceptions.
He seems totally wasted out there on the wing though.

 

Think he just isnt settled. Arrived very late in transfer period. Since then he is always away. Called up for national team as well, where the atmosphere is stinking at the moment. A break would probably do him the world of good. Reminds me a bit of De Ketelaere when he went to Milan. Same body language, same hiding on the pitch. But for now nothing he shows says to me he is worth what we payed for him.

Hes becoming a real problem. I don’t think Rodgers or the board will want to accept we’ve just spent £11 million on a player that looks out of his depth. He’s not even showing flashes of what made us spend that kind of money. Cant see how he can continue to be picked ahead of Bernardo and McCowan after that ‘performance’ tonight.

Young bloke but Bernado has a season's more experience so I'd be starting him and bedding in Engels

 

Hard to pinpoint exactly where it's going wrong for him, but keep thinking about what Rodgers said when he signed. Something about wanting Engels to focus more on the attacking side of his game as that's the kind of player he sees him as.

So obviously if he's being coached into a different type of player than he's been used to it will take a good while for it to click. Think this is a big part of it, but even then he's lacking confidence, making basic errors and is blatantly hiding.

Got so much to work on the boy, and starting every game just isn't helping.

 

He's been very poo, not even showing it in Scotland. Needs benched.

His corners are also fkn horrendous.

 

He's a worry. Definitely doesn't look like a marquee signing.

 

£11 million is a massive amount of money for Celtic due to our limited financial income in Scottish football.

It’s going to hurt like * to admit we’ve blown £11 million on a player who simply doesn’t look anywhere near good enough but for the good of team we are going to admit it and drop him.

 

His corners have been one of his stronger points so far. Maybe not tonight, but in general. We've scored from at least one from memory.

Just don't see it. Been robbed of £11m, £100k to £11m in 18 months was it. Tisdale needs sacked if he identified him, horrendous footballer and total shitebag. Thought he turned a corner vs leipzig but patience running out

 

He's 21 and being asked to play a different role from what he's used to. He's going to have these nights. It's quite clear that he has the class, we just need to be patient.
