Game intelligence and reacting to things quickly is one of the best in our squad..

Should be starting instead of Engels. Better in almost every department right now.

Has to start the next game but feel like iv been saying that for weeks now. Hes too good to be on our bench. We are inhibiting his development by not giving him the game time he deserves

I like Engels but Bernardo should be starting on Wednesday. I think he is more mature in his game understanding.

Midfield is going to be key on Wednesday as it’s one of their strengths too. They have the experience of Vanaken and the youthful energy and abilities of Onyedika and Jashiri up against our experience and know how of McGregor, Creativity of Hatate and I just feel like having that know how and positional sense of Bernardo is a better fit than Engels for this one.

At the end of the day both will play a big part in the game but if it were me I would go Bernardo.

I suspect other than that the team that started at the weekend will go again. Personally I would go Valle over Taylor for his athleticism but if that was to happen he would have started or at least came on Saturday.

I'd be surprised if he started ahead of Engels on Wednesday, but if he doesn't I would expect him to get a start vs Ross County. He deserves a start but I suspect Engels will get the nod in the big games with Bernardo and McCowan getting more starts when the fixture congestion kicks in

I don't think he'll start midweek and for all he absolutely deserves a run of starts, I can see why he'd be better off the bench for this one..

His calmness and positional sense, as well as closing down the space and latching on to second balls will be vital as our 3 tire a bit. Feel like Engels coming on for Bernardo with a tiring Hatate and McGregor would actually be worse for us as right now, Engels positionally isn't quite there yet..

He'll get plenty game time this season. Not too worried.

I agree with this but id probably go a bit further. Bernardo is ahead of Engels in a lot of aspects in his game. Technically, movement, positioning, his decisions. Id say the only thing Engels has over Bernardo is athleticism.

That isnt meant as a dig to Engels who is younger and will develop. I just think Bernardo is a better player and we are a better team with him in it. And i dont think dropping Engels is necessarily a bad thing either.

Bernardo is not technically better than Engels. That's bananas. He's bang average technically. He's a great player due to his awareness and physicality; but he's not a great technical player. Engels is. I think Bernardo will see game time off the bench tonight; but if we want to see those quick passing interchanges that were so important against Leipzig, Engels should start IMHO.

I guess it depends on exactly what Rodgers' plan is, though. If we want to go for a more defensive strategy, Bernardo might be better.

He must be super * off, must have thought once O'Riley is gone he'll slot into the starting midfield only to see Engels come in for a record fee and take that place instead, I feel bad for him tbh, must think that no matter how good he plays that he'll never displace Engels due to the price tag needing constant justification

Not getting that from him at all. Guy seems very professional. He'll be starting games soon.

He wouldn't have been in the dark about that tho. Everyone and their dug knew we'd try and sign a MOR replacement. It wasn't a secret.

He'll continue to get given minutes

Really like the player he’s becoming, think there’s every chance he bulldozes his way into the starting 11 in the next few weeks. The competition seems to be bringing the best out on him.

That move he done for Idah's goal on Saturday was outstanding. Pass and move twice to set up the goal right through the middle of the hearts defence, was like prime Messi/Xavi/Iniesta stuff. What a goal it was.
