Yeah agree with this in the past we have been guilty of holding on to players too long Ntcham and Boyata come to mind during Rodgers first stint. I also feared Hatate might land that way but he is picking back up again, the time to sell him was summer 2023 when his stock was high but Jota left unexpectedly and our own business was a total disaster.

In addition, where I have talked up our likely financial performance this season, we need to make sure we have as strong a side as possible for the start of next season as our biggest game will come mid August in a champions league qualifier to just get back to the main event. We can’t go back to selling on main players or playing players who have a foot out the door like we have done during the last decade making it a total lottery.

Of course we need to make sure and win the league first but come January our business needs to focus on getting the team strengthened whilst we have a good surplus and very high income this season.

Separate subject but we were in a very good place in the league going into the equivalent international break last year and this next run of fixtures we had a poor run.

We have a big 7 game run from when we start back against Hearts on the 23rd of November until we play them in the cup final on the 15th of December. Get that sequence right on the park combined with getting the recruitment side sorted of it and we could be on for a very special season.

Would you include Kuhn in yours?

Call me crazy, but I think he might be our best winger since Jinky. Still early days, obviously. The combo of pace, scoring and creativity is hard to beat. He can do it all apart from fighting for headers which I couldn't care less for a wide player.

On current form, could agree with most there.
Arguments for McGeady and Forrest in the wide options. Naka as well.

Only one I would absolutely swap out is Frimpong. Certainly he's a quality player now and we could all see it as well, but during his time at Celtic, if that's what we base it on, then Hinkle, Juranovic and AJ all are ahead of him for me.

Bees scouts have also tracked Kuhn’s first nine months at Celtic, where the in-form winger has registered 10 goals and 11 assists across all competitions in an outstanding start to the campaign. But a move to Brentford is not currently on the cards.

The German, 24, joined Celtic in January in a £3million deal from Rapid Vienna, and has been touted as now being worth as much as £30m given his output so far this term.

Thomas Frank’s Brentford have scored freely this season, with Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa notching 15 league goals between them.

What I like the most about Frimpong is his explosiveness. Reminds me of Maeda in terms of physical stature, pace, acceleration and work rate. His positional awareness isn't exactly optimal (which is why he's regularly used in midfield at Leverkusen), but he's lightning quick going forward. I value speed and work rate over anything else, especially since we play with a high defensive line. But that's just me.

One forgotten name I briefly considered is Bellamy. He was pure class in the 6 months he played for Celtic. In a vacuum, I'd start him over Jota at LW. Far too small sample size though.

Toughest choice for me was Boruc over Forster. Can't go wrong with either one probably.

Need bit Sutton in the team alongside Larsson, switch to a 3-5-2 O'Neill tactics, sure Kuhn and Jota could handle that.

Aye can see good arguments for Bellamy on the left, but like you say, too small a sample size.
Keane as a striker is a shout as well, though if it's just one up front no one is bettering the king of kings.

Kuhn should be opening up new transfer policies for us.

    It's quite simple.

    1. Become the gate keepers for every emerging Scottish talent. We are bigger than the rest of Scotland combined. We should be offering the best players under 20 to come here. We should keep them on loan at their current club if possible to guarantee maximum game time as best possible - Watson and Miller should be ours but we may have left it too late already (especially with the latter).
    2. We should be tapping up markets that are notorious for producing decent talent but we're bigger/more appealing than their clubs - Norway, Sweden, North America, Asia, majority of Denmark, majority of Belgium, majority of the Netherlands, majority of Portugal, majority of Austria, Switzerland - think Kuhn at Rapid Vienna.
    3. We should be making more links with big clubs with fantastic youth setups but don't have the capacity for their youngsters to make the grade - what we have done with Jota and Bernardo but with more clubs than just Benfica.
    4. Hit up big clubs and those who have a history of producing great youngsters and look at those they are trying to offload because they don't have a pathway at the club - think Kuhn at Leipzig/Bayern Munich.
    5. Monitor those players who have left big clubs and gone on to play regularly at a decent level - like Kuhn did, moving from Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Ajax and Rapid.

If you want to get to premier league wages while enjoying your football Celtic are demonstrably one of the best places to go.

His ceiling is massively high because there’s still a lot more development in him. He is aiming for the 36 goals and assists number of Sinclair this season and at current rates will batter it.

He’s a hun slaying and a cup final MOTM performance away from making himself a real Celtic hero, not a single fan would have gave that prediction at the end of last season.

It is a stunning turnaround tbf.

You've got folk putting him in imaginary best XIs now whereas 6 months ago he was a dud.

    Wild.

I think a lot of people are making too much out of this being a 'turn around'. What ever happened to a settling in period? Especially for a player who arrived just after major dental surgery.

He signed in January, people were writing him off in February, but in March some of us were saying he was a Pler.

After a slow start with us he ended up with 3 goals and 5 assists out of about 1,000 mins of football. You could also see the defensive side of his game was good last season too. From March onwards, he was decent.

Said it before but he was never a dud here. You’d think he came in and had 10 stinkers back to back or something. He’s been unbelievable this season so far but surely folk didn’t completely him off last season. He was only in last few months of season and had a few decent games and a few bad. And that was after coming back from his mouth/weight issues.

But he has surprised me how good he’s been so far this season, didn’t expect this level of performance and consistency.

I know it will never happen but can you imagine if we had Jota back and we had them both. That would be incredible.
