He's first choice for me now.

We should be doing everything we can to get him signed permanently in January, don't think we have a chance next Summer.

Aye he isn't making it there..

First choice at us for a couple of year isn't an unattractive proposition I don't think..

For me it depends how the season goes.

If it goes too well, he may just like his chances. Even as rotation at Barcelona. Or a better loan back in La Liga for a season could suit him better than 2 seasons here.

That said, if he's realistic and doesn't look like he would truly cut it at that level (no shame in it), then yeah we've got the track record of moving players on to bigger/glitzzy clubs now so we should be an attractive opportunity.

Time will tell. But I'm convinced Barcelona like him and this loan suits them to toughen him up, which you can see the impact already.

Numerous times tonight he took the ball and played a nice one two, in a tight spot. His forward passing is so pinpoint and sharp.

    Massive fan.

Improving every game, really impress yesterday, night and day with Taylor.
Just suspect, from a Barca perspective, they will want to loan him out to a mid table La Liga side next season

Wouldn't actually surprise me if they sold him to us, or loaned back again with a LARGE sell-on. Pretty sure we tried to get a lowball sell-on added on, which is why they rejected it outright. Definitely gonna have to pay up if he keeps progressing, or just settle for having had him at all if it doesn't happen...

It's not easy getting someone out of a setup like Barca, where traditions, profile and money overpower even us

Think it was reported as his agent not wanting it as part of the deal.

Definitely think if he continues as he's started signing him if it's possible would be good business. Even if it doesn't happen a successful spell here is good for us as puts us on the pathway for developing similar sorts of talent.

It was Valle himself that didn't want an option to buy. Folk are always too quick to blame the club

Just needs to be a little cleaner in his touch when receiving the 2nd part of a one-two. In about 3 different games he's done it and taken a touch that ends up under his feet or behind him and has to turn back with it.

    Good player though

His future at Barça has more to do with with the player’s will than that of the club, Hansi used him in pre-season more than any of the other FBs who remain in the 1st team dynamic (Fort & Martin). Player had been on loan the previous season and surely saw the benefit of playing regularly vs inconsistent cameos. Perhaps once he realized he would rotate at RB or LB for Jules & Balde over consistency, he opted to play more for his development. The contract extension, wage bump and lack of buyout clause ahead of loan to Celtic says quite a bit but as I have alluded to previously, Barça won’t keep players who desire an exit

So if he continues to thrive and prefers to either stay at Celtic or be playing regularly anywhere outside of Barça then ‘he won’t make it at Barça’ else he will be back for pre-season in 2025 under Flick. Me, I see him as a great backup to Balde but perhaps the player prefers starting regularly even if away from his home club as Alex advocated for a loan.

I do not believe he will be content as a backup but that also means that a good loan at Celtic also translates to interest from clubs throughout Europe who will also take notice of a LB made in La Masia

It’s a win/win situation for Celtic. Either he has a great season here and goes back to Barcelona full of confidence and believing in his ability to make the grade there, or he decides he is happy here and we hopefully make that move permanent.

Either way, he’s highlighting Celtic as an attractive proposition to the plethora of talent at La Masia which certainly can’t hurt us.

Barça is working to recover a player who left the discipline of Hans-Dieter Flick a short time ago, but who could return, against all odds, in January. And it is that the German coach assumes that he made a very serious mistake when letting go a footballer who left a very good impression during the pre-season, and who was expected to remain in the squad. But to everyone's surprise, he ended up saying goodbye.
Let's talk about Álex Valle, who was one of the protagonists in the friendlies they played. He performed perfectly despite the fact that in several games he had to play in a different demarcation than usual, and he showed that he has the necessary level to be important in the rotations. However, as soon as he was warned that he would not have much continuity, he chose to accept the transfer proposal presented to him by Glasgow Celtic.

They did promise him a lot of regularity there, and he could continue to accumulate experience in the elite, and also compete in the Champions League. All these factors ended up being decisive for the Spanish under 19 international to decide to say goodbye to the Camp Nou, where a priori it was planned that he would take the place left vacant by Marcos Alonso, being the natural replacement for Alejandro Balde. But it was Gerard Martín who assumed this responsibility.

And although Flick has given him many more minutes than expected, the defender born in 2002 has not lived up to the demands. They have come to the conclusion that he cannot continue at Barça, and it is expected that he will leave on loan or return to the subsidiary , forcing Joan Laporta and Deco to have to look for a reinforcement for this area . And before spending money on new faces, they want to bet on the former UD Llevant and Andorra player

He has grown a lot in recent months in Scotland, and after a rocky start, he is now one of the big stars at Celtic Park, and has impressed with his performances.

Valle can get Balde in trouble
Laporta and Deco are working to cancel the transfer agreement with Celtic so that Valle can rejoin Flick's discipline in the winter market, although for this they would have to pay a financial compensation.

And in Barça they believe that Valle can put Balde in trouble, and come to discuss his ownership, despite the fact that he is recovering his best version

    * ridiculous if true.

Did Barca tell Celtic - If he’s a bit * you can keep him but if he’s any good we’re taking him back.
