Biggest difference was our press was controlled. Not the mad thing I watched v Dortmund where we were 4-1 down and the likes of Bernardo, Maeda and Kyogo all pressing their CB like mad

 

Deserves credit for tonight.

 

Got it absolutely spot * on tonight. Lessons were absolutely learned from Dortmund.

 

Great to see the more pragmatic approach tonight.

I actually think we can implement this a lot better. I hope he drills the team more and we really develop this. It could probably use a bit of refinement too.

 

Kyogo playing CB against Dortmund?

The difference in the compactness of the MF 3 against Atalanta was telling.
Looking at the position stats vs Dortmund, they were all over the place!

 

This result is absolutely HUGE. I think the Dortmund result hurt Celtic much more than we think. You can hear it on Brendan as he brings it up all the time, and he brought it up again the first thing he did in the post game interview yesterday. Getting this result will put us back on Pre Dortmund pumping levels in the league. HUGE.

It most likely ended our annual CL pumpings as well as Brendan finally learned the lessons and went defensive. With a little bit more luck and with better passing i think we would have won this game yesterday. A true CL performance.

 

Totally Dortmund crept in the heads of players and fans. We were flying beating huns 3:0, 5:1 Bratislava, 6:0 in Perth. We all thought yes we can do something in Europe. Then BAM! I think that Dortmund score could be pivotal for our season in hindsight. In a positive way, we saw our limits and not we are putting ourself back together and hopefully get stronger. This will be huge in the heads of the players.

 

Deserves so much praise. Really smart balanced performance. When we had the ball we were still aggressive and tried to play out from the back, we weren't just hitting it long and packing out defence. But we were compact and efficient when Atalanta had the ball

 

Massive credit where it's due.. he appears not far now off building a decent squad that he can rotate to some degree to negotiate certain runs of games. Having the captain and vice captain not starting and still winning convincingly away at motherwell is no mean feat.. id hope and expect further rotation during the week edging towards Aberdeen and Leipzig.. we are in a decent space currently. Just one game at a time..

Great man management today!!! Brought on CCV but didn’t take either Trusty or Scales off which, in my opinion, would have been a dent to either of their confidence. He basically said, well done boys, you’ve been great for me this week.
The guy is class.
