Can't see us getting scudded 7-1 again.

We need to be right up for it though.

Whilst i agree its down BR and the players to put in a performance, theres quite literally nothing we can do against their attack, not with our current backline.

More than few, including myself , lamented the possibility that going into the CL with Greg Taylor and Liam Scales would see us utterly horsed.

Its already happened, against a supposed "weak" Dortmund side.

Not only is that bad enough, the expensive CB upgrade we bought to finally replace Starfelt is looking like a complete panic buy, or worse, a BR centre back special a la Jack * Hendry.

And again, without another, proper european level CB in the mould of CCV, a real LB who doesnt get rinsed in europe, and a real DM to protect the defence, we're donald ducked.

We can stick 5 past a truly woeful Bratislava, who STILL scored against us, but when Falkirk, hibs, the sheep, ross county etc can breach our defence with relative ease, it gives me the absolute fear of what Atalanta will do to us.

The painfully infuriating thing is, this was avoidable. We had and HAVE more than enough money to do it.
We should be going into these games with hope. Not sheer * terror at another Euro embarrassment.

Still, amazingly no LB to fix a recurring weakness in Europe. The same for a DM, and the same , arguably, for a new CB.

Trusty is looking like a 2m spfl defender, and Engels is looking like an extravagance we could've done without it a real LB could've been bought.

Another duffing, and Rodgers has alot to answer for , imo at least.

Anyway, * stained fear rant over.

    Mon the hoops!!

lets do these extremely nice and complimentary Italians who have shown us alot of professional respect!

with aberdeen able to cut us open as they did I dread to think of what a good side will do. Trusty can't play rcb it's that simple he is so uncomfortable doing it in a domestic game it shouldn't even be considered for a champions league game.

There's definitely things you can do with the players we have available, to make us more solid.

Engels has already proved his class and will continue to do so..

Trusty, too early to make any sort of judgement on him, he's played out of position. He was signed to give competition/replace Scales.. Scales has said * that.. and has been our best defender this season, fair play to him.

CCV's injury niggles mean we need another R/CB in Jan.. as Welsh and Nawrocki are substandard. Then Scales and Trusty can battle for L/CB..

No argument with the neglect of the LB position and even longer DCM.

Looks that way and I really don't like them matching up against Lookman and Retegui.

If we could sell Nawrocki in January and bring in a new RCB that would be ideal.

Well I suppose one way to look at it in a positive light is it can't go any worse than Dortmund right?

We have to go 352 or some iteration of a back 3/5 to match their system. Otherwise we will get absolutely slaughtered down the channels again.

Have no faith if Trusty starts it wont be at least 5. Even Iwata would of been a better option at centre back.

No confidence at all for this game tomorrow. We've been defensively poor since the Dortmund game and with CCV not travelling, can't see anything other than a convincing win for Atalanta. Hope I'm wrong.

I know I keep going on about it but we lack the height and physicality to compete against European teams. We are like wee boys when we line up against them and I just pray it's not another humping
