Disappointing start to the group stages

 

The difference in quality has been obvious the entire game, there is simply no reason why a club like Twente should be outfighting and outclassing us. A club of our size and resources should be the ones pushing the initiative in the womens game.

With our resources we could absolutely bring in some world class players if the will was there and seeing a well invested celtic womens team pushing for a champions league trophy would catch the imagination of the fans, it'd be exciting.
Hopefully barrowfield is the first step to seeing a push to a higher level, i'm also suprised the club hasn't done more to push for an invitation into the English super league, it would help attract better players and could attract big crowds for man united/liverpool games etc.. does anyone know if the club has looked into this?

Just back from the game.

Really poor performance. We were organised and in the game until their goal which was far too easy.

Zero ambition shown in the second half. We are absolutely toothless up front and have been all season so far. Said it before but we’re so unconvincing it’s unreal. No creativity in the team and all very workmanlike.

Think Twente were happy to play within themselves. Had another couple of gears to go up if needed.

That was our only chance of a point, unfortunately. Going to be a long group stage.

 

@Officer Doofy any word at the ground what the deal was with no Amy Gallagher or Kit Loferski, not even on the bench?

 

A 1-1 draw between Sevconettes and City, means Celtic win their 2 games in hand and will go joint top.
