I just watched the game again. If you take the emotion out of it, forget hating Taylor for whatever reason, he played ok but was no better than Taylor in an SPFL game. Therefore in my opinion, we have 2 good LB’s for the SPFL but still need an upgrade for the CL.

You’ve been watching Taylor with your eyes shut if you think he’s capable of making those overlapping runs with that level of pace and awareness.

Sorry mate but you’re just watching Taylor with your eyes closed. There has been no difference at all, if anything he is a down grade on Taylor.

He’s barely in the door so disregarding personal opinion it’s literally impossible to have such a strong view either way at this point.

I thought he grew into the game today. He was quiet and unspectacular but started doing well on the overlap later on when we were pushing for a winner. By and large he was fine defensively and on the ball.

I have not seen enough yet to say he is an upgrade or otherwise.

    Funny how people watch games.

Genuinely thought he was good from the outset.

He looks to have something about him for sure. Not convinced yet of course but I want to see more.

Thought he was decent yesterday, comfortable on the ball, drifted into decent positions, decent pace with a good engine.
Reckon he will improve each game. Suspect he will start against the sheep and Atalanta, with GT nursing a knock.

    Something there to work with.

Can see what Barcelona plan is with this loan, toughen him up. He's decent on the ball and given space and time he's probably good for a level. But he needs to be quicker mentally and toughen up a bit for us.

That will go well for him if/when he returns to Barcelona.

But too early to say he's a must sign or that he must replace Taylor.

From what I have seen of Valle so far he looks a good prospect. He reminds me a bit of Bernado when he first arrived. Just needs some time to settle, and with the backing and encouragement of the coaching staff and the fans, I think we will see him come more and more into his own game, as his confidence grows with each game.

His first outing was poor but with his Dortmund and now start v hearts he’s looking a threat to Taylor

Thought the same. Its early days but I like the look of him. I reckon we can really help his game with a good development plan and some time on the pitch. I thought he did well in moments against Dortmund and showed initiative, he doesn't look 'raw' in that respect, we just need to teach him as much as we can and keep the trajectory going upwards in all areas

    I think you are right.

Valle is a more composed, cultured and disciplined left back than say the likes of Boli and Bernabei.
I think he poses a major threat to Taylor. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Looks a good alternative to Taylor, will just take time to learn the system which will hamper him initially.

Couple of bernabai esc sloppy passes but think it comes from thinking about where he is meant to be tactically while getting his pass off.

Gives us another element that he can go on the overlap and not just underlap like Taylor, will be important this season I think.

The part in bold above is how I feel watching Valle just now. Early on in the game on Sunday he looked to me like being Valle playing inverted full back trying to be a like for like to Taylor and doing fine at this. However, I feel he really kicked on when he started playing a game that looked natural to him in getting beyond the winger attacking the byline and trying to get low hard crosses into the near post or chipping it to the back.

I think those later attributes could be vital against teams who park the bus as County did on Sunday. Having a full back to add an extra attacking dimension on the overlap can just create that opportunity to turn a defence or get to the byline and pull it back for midfield runners to arrive late on the end off.

I can understand why Valle would play the way Taylor has to date but utilising his own strengths as he settles in will be important.
