Come on you Bhoys in Green
Losing 7-1 to this Dortmund team is probably the worst loss I've witnessed as a Celtic fan. I'm completely shocked rn

There's a difference between anti-football and playing so open that a team of pensioners could play through you.

At 1-1 tonight we should have been thanking our lucky stars that we were back in it and settling things down for a while. Instead, nope. Play wide open and concede immediately.

Not a great night but tonight was never definitive in our campaign this year.

Nights like tonight it is easy to take the scattwr gun approach but being pragmatic and looking at it in isolation we caused 5 or 6 of the goals through slack play.

No positives to take at all but we move on players just don't get written off after 1 game.

Atlantic will scud us stupid if we try to go toe to toe.

I'm done with tonight but I'll end with this. Said it before and I'll say it again, with the resources we have we shouldn't be losing by 5 or 6 goals to ANYONE. Be they Barca, PSG or Dortmund. Celtic fans accept that money has changed football and we can accept defeat in Europe but not humiliation. Avoiding humiliation on a now yearly basis shouldn't be too much to ask for for a club of our size with our finances.

We don't learn. We say this every year. We've been getting horsed for 10+ years in Europe now.

The only way we'll "learn" is if we start taking a more pragmatic approach to these games and buying better quality players. Both of which are very achievable but we seem to neglect.

If we start building a team of players around the level of Engels (who was * tonight), we might have a chance of competing. We looked slow, weak and tepid tonight. Our manager needs to realise we can't go toe-to-toe with the best, not unless we sign proper quality players.

Not sure why people are putting Dortmund down as not a decent team. A lot of that squad tonight were playing in the champs league final so they can't be that bad fs. Not as if they're massively off form domestically either, regardless of how early in campaign it is.

    Well.. That went as expected.

Usual away performance in Europe for us, self-destruct button. 2 penalties, giving the ball away, I think, for every one of their goals in the final third. We kept trying to fizz a ball into our forward players who lost it every time, no one could hold the ball up. If we're doing that surely we needed to start Idah for a physical presence up there?

Next match, we can't play that style as Atalanta will do exactly the same to us. Idah has to start up top in these games. Kyogo to start against Brugge/Zagreb/Young Boys.

    16 shots all night, 7 goals... Holy * *

How many chances did we create going toe to toe tonight then?

Did we actually kick anyone tonight? Did we get close enough to panic them, no. We need to be harder, we are far too soft.

I wouldn't have minded getting beat by a much stronger side however I'm raging at our nativity and unwillingness to change things when it was so apparent that our approach was all wrong from the start.

Pretty harsh to single out individual players imo. No one played well. But I agree with your last sentence, Rodgers setting us up to press high against a team of that quality was stupidity of the highest level.
