Done very well tonight I thought. What I did notice, was that he was using his right foot to makes passes at times, that’s a big plus as he is obviously comfy on it. Promising signs.

He was so much better with Scales beside him, and he looked quick too. Maybe him and Scales will hit it off now, big opportunity for him.
And he was unlucky not to get a goal with that piledriver of his, that could be a secret weapon for us going forward.

A much more settled backline with trusty deputising for CCV and suddenly he looks a different prospect.

Gonna be a real difficult night up ahead away to Dortmund so could be back to how some were chatting after Falkirk game.

So far so good I would say

Even when he was bad last week I noticed that he was trying to play with his right a few times or take a touch with his height..

Looked far far quicker on and off the ball tonight..

Must've just been more rusty than we originally thought..

Hopefully a big performance incoming midweek..

Not really tested defensively but was strong in the air and on the deck.

Crucially for me he looked a yard or two quicker even compared to last week.

Imagine a player needing a game or so to settle eh! Early days still bit folk really need to calm it with the rogue early shouts.

He went down with a slight knock late on. See if we end up with Welsh or Nawrocki heading into one of our hardest games, probably the hardest game of the season, I’ll be gutted.

Seems to always happen, before it was Welsh that ended up needing to play with 2 guys out infront of him, it was Bitton. It always seems to happen.

Good for him to get the full 90 mins and a clean sheet. That will defo help him settle. Think CCV will likely play through the pain barrier on Tuesday though.

Well impressed, especially that time he was in a race and just managed to toe poke the ball to safety, showing great pace and never lunged.

Wasn’t really tested last night but what he had to do he did well. Tuesday night if called on will be a whole other level but he will feel a lot better after a good game like last night confidence wise.

I think he can be a real goal threat from set pieces. Defending early days for him.

A lot to like and I'm loving his pace. Just one note of caution: as much as we all loved Daizen's incredible recovery of the situation, it was Trusty's bad pass that led to that. Against a good CL team, that's a goal we're losing 8 times out of 10.

I like him and I think he'll be great here; but there's some work we need to do on his decision making before he can hope to replace Scales IMHO.

I think his passing won't be helped by the fact he is playing on the wrong side to what he usually would. E.g. Starfelt. Noticed it a few times his passes were a bit short or direct weirdly and it's probably due to his right foot not being his best.

It's a fair point, mate; but it still highlights his decision making. If you're not sure you can complete a risky forward pass like that and you're not chasing the game, then don't make it. Of course, we can usually get away with it domestically (with exceptions such as Bernabei's pass leading to Miovski's goal last season that cost us points); but we often won't in the CL.
