And has been doing so for quite some time.

Rodgers has called it out a couple of times, so he'd definitely welcome the question..

 

Maybe we'll see progress on this in the international break.. maybe..

More likely the January window will open and everyone will be asking the questions, that should have been asked consistently since we got rid of Mark Lawwell and Dudgeon.. in March, * March..

Not sure why there isn't more pressure from fans and media on this.. there's gaping holes in our recruitment structure..before we even look at the overall football structure, that definitely needs modernising.

 

Can’t sign anyone outside of the window so we’ll have to start this on jan 1st and finish it on jan 31st 10pm

 

If we spend minimum £10M more than we bring in in the next 3 transfer windows our team will come close to delivering on their huge potential whilst also keeping an elite manager at the helm.
We'd still have £60M+ in the bank.

We'd have to recruit very, very well - it's not just about cash, but a higher budget gives us a much higher likelihood of being successful.
It would be great to see Engels and Idah shine through to reinforce that point, and big Peters eyes will be on those 2.

Brendan hinted at a recruitment shakeup, let's hope thats being worked on right now, but equally I'm not holding my breath given Desmonds recent comments.

A few times he called out the lack of a coherent recruitment strategy, this was during the last window. Still nothing..

He's never pressed on what's happening and we never hear anything from our CEO..

Even if they were to come out and say, we've promoted in house and say, Mark Cooper is now chief scout or whoever.. it would fall short of what's required but at least we'd get some clarity.

 

If that were the case then I should be chief scout!

You know why.
Overall the fanbase is fickle and easily swayed.

We called it in the summer, a semi feel good window and the board will trott off happy enough that the fans are off their back again. ML and JD got their marching orders as a symbolic gesture to ease fan pressure. The same way PL stepped down for 18 months, knowing full well he was gonna take over from IB 18 months later.

It's entirely, 100% lipservice that the board play to the fans and know they can do just enough, without really doing much.

Our summer window was slow, lethargic and in the end not enough.
But they'll shout about how they done a great deal for Bernardo - draggin out an agreed deal to get a few mill off (actually good in part, but they dragged the * out of it).
They'll shout about how they broke the buying fee record, twice, ignoring that we got rinsed for Idah and Engels could/should have been done weeks, month before. To the stage that both Idah and Engels, we are now in to the second week of October, the second international break of the season and neither are fully up to speed with us.

After that the other notable signings was a loan option from Barcelona with no buy option and most would agree Barcelona have full intentions of retaining his services, so we are quite literally using him to toughen him up for Barcelona gain.
And Trusty, who I hope I'm as wrong about as I was with Kuhn, but looks like a guy we paid about 6m too much for. Both of which were panic buys late in the window as well.

We are left with the stark reality of no first choice LB next season, at worse. At best, no backup option.
We continue to have inadequate CB cover, to the point we can pretty much throw Trusty name up there with Lagerbeilke and Nawrocki at this current stage.
Our midfield looks decent, albeit the one type of midfielder we probably really need is never to be seen.

The fact we are less than 3 months to the next window, one we need to use to seriously plan ahead in, yet still no senior recruitment or scouting structure.

Saw an article last week was it, about Haksabanovic wanting to leave last summer. Saed and Brendan was on the same page, but haksabanovic quotes that the board refused to let him leave at first, that they wanted him in the squad.
Literally last summer our board was dictating who was to be signed/kept etc.

Is there literally any real evidence that anything has changed over the many years? Nope.

But the board done enough, just enough, to keep the fans noise to a limit and give them breathing space again.
