    He’d be Rangers best defender.

    Hilarious.

He seems to be flying over there just now, hopefully we can get close to our money back for him now. I actually think depending how Valle does between now and January I wouldn’t be surprised if we tried to get a Tierney on loan for the second half of the season.

He is out in the wilderness at Arsenal and injured just now. Unless something left field comes up for him, I could see all parties coming to an arrangement.

    * nooooooo!!!! Far too injury prone for the wages we’d have to pay.

Not saying I think it’s the best thing for us to do but I think it might be what we try to.

Hopefully we can get him sold in January and maybe even get all or most of the 3.75m we paid for him.

Think he would be fine here. His body can't take the epl. He won't be bombing up and down as much. He can retire from the national team so his body can rest. I bet he can over come them. Look at forrest, arguably just as bad at one point. Needs managed better.

So we count him out for Europe? This would be a terrible signing, no room for sentiment if we want to progress as a club. In my opinion

He's one of those players that will always suit the chaos of South American football better than Europe

I think he is a good player but he is to weak for Celtic. Both physically and mentally.

I actually think injuries permitting he’d be brilliant here at centre half in the role he plays for Scotland. Great on the ball and can actually defend too with pace. Wouldn’t have to do much domestically but in Europe would be solid as he’s proven internationally and would also suit him coming into the latter years of his career.

leaving us room to get a young athletic guy out full back to do all the hard yards

I don’t think he has suddenly become good. When reading comments by his teams manager he has been doing well going forward for them but he speaks about him having the ability to defend but being rash and not always using it and having to take better care of the ball at times but him maturing into that. He also references that he does seem to have screwed the head and been more mature in how he approaches his game, which would align with some of his nonsense here off the field.

I also recall reading something about him not long after he arrived that the style of football Lanus played was miles away from what we did. It was all about playing simple passes then driving forward to receive a return then bouncing it off a team mate and going again. As a full back in possession Bernabei was basically to do that until he got to a crossing or shooting position. The complete opposite of trying to be an inverted full back. You could also see him trying to play his old way here but messing up the short pass then being caught out of position. He always had decent attacking delivery and a shot on him but was very raw otherwise.

Getting a sale would be a good outcome.

Long may his run of form continue and we can get him sold so we can buy a decent left back.

    Pretty much.
Completely the wrong type of signing and not one I can remotely imagine Ange actually wanted. It just never fit his style or would be the type of player he'd scout for himself.

Still think there is a player there and potentially more suited to Rodgers style. He'd have worked fairly well in a Lennon system I would think.
But he's unlikely to get that time, nor would we want to overly waste our time on the hope.
The above said...Bernie and Valle as our two left backs next season....

    Ye just never know.

    He's a shocking defender, tbh.

Don't watch a lot of South American football but there must be a reason he's looked better over there both times.
