Generally does OK coming on late in games against tired teams. Generally awful when he starts games tho.

Better option to bring off the bench than that * Palma

He should be ahead of Palma in the pecking order now on attitude and work ethic alone.

For sure, definitely has an attacking mentality and pace to him that Palma lacks. Done well when he came on today, made himself available for everything and kept driving at them till the end

He’s not good enough but definitely a better option than Palma.

We desperately need another winger. Having Yang and Forrest as our backs ups isn’t enough.

I thought he looked like someone trying to make an impact today and keen to get involved. Which puts him ahead of palma by default

You saw first half today that our squad is nowhere near as solid as most think it is.

We look light everywhere except for CM and maybe ST. Lack of quality wingers and CB's is pretty glaring and that's why I was disappointed at the end of the transfer window because we should have done more to address this.

FWIW I thought Yang was decent today. He should definitely be starting over Palma at the moment but ideally we'd sign another winger who can push Maeda/Kuhn in January.

The squad is in a better place now than it’s been in a long time. Having a poor half against a very impressive Falkirk with a second string doesn’t alter that one single bit.

I feel like this happens every year, we make wholesale changes and struggle in a match and people start writing off the quality of the squad. You can't expect a team to look comfortable together in those circumstances. It rarely works out that way.

Doesn't mean the squad isn't good though

Put more effort into his cameo, that Palma done before he was subbed.

Why are people so vitriolic towards our own players?

Palma isn't good enough but I don't think anything he's done warrants him being labelled a *.

Its better placed in some respects, particularly in the midfield and striker positions.

The drop off between our current starters and the likes of Palma, Yang, Welsh, Narwocki and Ralston (to a lesser extent) is pretty * significant though.

Obviously Trusty and Valle are unproven but on today's showing you wouldn't feel confident about them slotting in either.

We definitely need to work on a few of these areas in January, especially if we're in with a shout of knockout football in Europe.

people want quality back up but quality won’t sign to sit on the bench, we’re lucky with Ralston, a Scotland international but he loves Celtic so puts up with role behind AJ, not many international players will do that for long

Ralston has proven his worth multiple times. Nawrocki hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip. The others no arguments with but making your mind up on Trusty and Valle after today is * bonkers.

He done well today, reminded me of Aberdeen game last season. Definitely better off the bench for now, looks like he will be a long term project.
Still cannot get that huns game out of my mind when he chucked it

He's only ever showed when coming off the bench. I'm fine with that but we do need someone who can give others a rest for a full 90mins.

Id rather see Yang off the bench than Palma.

I thought he was very good today for the 30mins he was on the pitch but nothing that Maeda should be worried about.

I think BR got exactly the info he needed out of that game. Now he know that Yang is ahead of Palma.
He know that Bernardo starts over Hatate for example, and he know that Nawrocki starts over Welsh and that Trusty needs to be tested alongside a competent defender.

He was our best player last year against Aberdeen when we won 6-0 and Dundee when we won 7-1. He then started well against Hearts - won us a pen and was lively and confident then got that ridiculous sending off which seemed to dent his confidence and didn't play as well after that. He was apparently one of the stand out players at the Asian cup last year. He's very inconsistent but I think given a bit of time he could come good.
