Should be starting games next to Engels and McGregor.

He should never have been dropped after the game against the huns, really.

 

He was great today, easily our best player until Kuhn came on.

I love Reo but Bernardo should start the next few games for me. If we need a creative spark, bring Hatate back. Should be pretty easy to balance our midfield options depending on the opposition.

I also think McGregor should be rested/rotated more. I'd be very interested to see how the other three function without him there.

 

Think he's earned his place ahead of Hatate. Start him and see if Reo responds to the challenge.

Unreal and looks so fit after getting a good pre season under his belt!

 

Looks a different player this season. More physical, more skillful just more all round in general. And that volley was top notch.

 

See once we get past this next international break there will be plenty of game time for all of Bernardo, Hatate, Engels, McCowan and McGregor. This run from Hearts to Ross County hasn’t been that bad playing demands wise.

After the next international break we have

Aberdeen (H) league 19th October
Atalanta (A) CL 23rd October
Motherwell (A) league 27th October
Dundee (H) league 30th October
Aberdeen (N) LC semi 2nd November
Leipzig (H) CL 5th November
Killie (A) league 9th November

So that is a very busy period with a lot of tough games. It is probably as tough a run as we have during the typical early December one. Which again will offer up plenty of game time.

I have to admit the wings and full back positions worry me a lot more than centre midfield. We are an injury to Kuhn away from a disaster on the wings.

 

Was easily our best player yesterday until Kuhn came on. He is just so good on the ball with his touch and that was one heck of a volley for his goal. I really enjoy watching him play he just oozes class.

 

Think we just left it too late meaning other positions needed strengthened at more of a priority. I’d like to think after yesterday however it’s something we’re already looking at because quite clearly palma isn’t up to it and Forrest was poor despite still being good enough as back up imo.

 

At least Yang showed he can make some contributions over the next couple of months when the schedule is heavy. I would think he is ahead of Palma and back up to Maeda on the left now.

 

A versatile forward player who could play either wing or up front would have been ideal. I wonder if McCowan is an emergency wing option.

 

Was a good cameo but will take more than that to convince me he’s good enough to be honest.

 

I totally agree. For me at this point I don't think Palma and Yang have a long term future at Celtic at all. I think there is a good chance one will be sold as early as January more likely it would be Palma. Yang has shown some flashes of potential but he is no where near being an important player for us so far.

 

Oooft wee Reo will take the right * hump if he can’t even make Celtic’s strongest starting 11 anymore.

 

Paulo Bernardo was sold for 3M€ + 30% of future profit (i.e., 30% of any amount above 3M€). Confirmed today by Rui Costa (chairman of Benfica) when speaking to BenficaTV.

I said it in player suggestions Kvistgaarden or a player like that would have been ideal.

I think Yang is our emergency wing option just now. Although he may be bumped up ahead of Palma after the weekend. However, I think Forrest would be played left or right before any of the other options.

We are seriously short when you think of it, after this next international break we are 8 games or so averaging one every 3 or 4 days and it includes a top of the table clash in the league; a cup semi final and two very tough CL games and a trip to Rugby Park. Maeda and Kuhn can’t be expected to play all those games for 90 minutes and be at their best.
