That's a shame.

Quite disappointed that he's gone. I always liked Iwata, thought he came in and did a job when called upon. He was particularly good during that spell when McGregor was out.

He's not going to be a regular here so it does make sense. Who is McGregor's back up now though? Engels seems to be more of an attacking player, Bernardo as well.

I do worry if the captain gets injured. Doesn't really seem to be a like for like player there. Not saying Iwata properly filled his shoes but still.

 

Bit off topic but the same day we break our transfer record (£13m), Birmingham on top of signing Iwata have also just broken the League 1 transfer record signing a lad for £15m that could go to £20m. Really shows how * the market is down there.

Per transfermarkt, the fee is €980k. Apparently, we paid €960k to buy him. Peter made a profit of €20k.

 

Transfermarkt talk total nonsense when it comes to our fees they are always on the low side and our purchases are on the high. They rely on voluntary regional ‘specialists’ for their figures and valuations.

 

Good player, but he lacked that combative side that every good DM needs to have in his locker.

Wish him all the best, but we won't miss him in a player sense.

 

He's fast becoming very overrated with our support.

He was the epitome of "ok". Wasn't too quick, fairly weak, okay passing and okay defending.

We need far better than him to progress, two top level managers have deemed him not good enough.

Just looked at their team now, wouldn’t be surprised to see a record finish in that league. Brilliant squad they’ve put together. I think Iwata will be away in January too to the prem or top championship, he’ll look brilliant in that league

Absolute pro, reliable when called upon and never kicked up a stink about playing second fiddle. Shame it never worked out for him here, I really liked him. Hopefully he kicks on and does great down south.

Never really set the world alight when he was here, if we made some money on him then it's a good move in my view.
