Different manager, same exact *. Like men against boys

 

Can’t understand the thinking behind appointing this guy? He was sacked by Jamaica recently and tonight we just looked clueless, there was no structure to how we played whatsoever.

 

Our last few managers play the exact same shape with a 5 at the back with painfully slow wing backs and still concede poxy goals and he’s basically playing more or less the same players. Smodics best position is the 10 he’s out left it’s brutal. Every Irish player just panics aswell like they haven’t a clue what to do on the ball as if there’s no tactical work n phases of play being worked on.
Why don’t the managers go for like a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 and try get some pace out wide. It’s just clueless

 

I’m all for left field managers if it makes sense. I was right behind signing Ange for Celtic. This guy though is woefully unqualified. Sacked by Jamaica and co-manager of Iceland? The other co-manager was the brains of the operation by all accounts. Who the * is this chap like?

 

To early to judge him,hes had 3 days with the team and like them or not the Brits are leagues abouve us so we were never getting anything from this game.

It did look bad but i think(hope) we see an improvement against the greeks,as i said hes had 3 days with the team so we will have to wait and see if he has it in him to change us.

With regards to the game,imo smallbone was a joke,he stood in the middle of the park and done nothing while grealish strolled around the park with all the time in the world(shocking),overall our attitude was terrible no urgency whatsoever and a real lack of hunger to succeed,hopefully the new guy can change this.

 

Our midfield is pretty * in general. There’s some quality elsewhere but without Cullen that midfield is so poor.

 

The whole team is pretty poor but yes your right the midfield area is a disaster area. We were beyond over run in midfield over the weekend. We quite literally do not have one single quality midfielder. Whether this new manager does well or not in fairness to him he doesn't have much to work with. Maybe a little bit more quality then Kenny had for the most part but nothing really significant and the lack of quality in midfield is scary. Your right we missed Cullen but when that is the case that your dependent on a very limited player at the top level as Cullen is that says it all about how bad the midfield options are.

 

I think I'll fire up the VPN for my sins and see if I can get rte2 as it works sometimes.. Starting now.. But not arsed if I can't lol

With their current standings they will be playing League C runners up teams from either Latvia, Kosovo, Bulgaria or Slovakia in the Group B relegation playoffs.
Will probably change with more games played

 

I really do hate what my national team has become.

 

It’s so bad mate. Would be better off playing Ferguson and Idah and playing route 1.

 

I don’t even know what shape we’re playing and the press is just half in, half out which is the worst of both worlds.
