Do the board deserve credit for this transfer window??

Ok, I like everyone else want more from the board, but I think it's very grudging not to say that the board has done pretty * brilliant for the league we're in...

Rodgers back was ballsy as *, and proving to be epic.
Fees we're getting for players out are excellent and we're actually holding onto a lot that would previously have gone.
We ARE spending decent money, even if it's not as much as we all want.
The asset value of our team is OBSCENE compared to everyone we face outside of Europe, in literally EVERY position.

We actually have a shot at doing ok in Europe this year, because we do look stronger and remain mostly settled. Just need some rub of the green...

Yes indeed and I'm feeling confident about this year.
Alot of criticism relies on hypothetical situations, for example: We could have done this or bought in this guy and it would have worked out better. We have a lot of money, fans want us to spend big but we must spend wise and be opportunistic. Why did we leave it so late in the window? Well that would be best answered by someone with inside knowledge and that person might say that there wasn't the right opportunity to sign anyone good.

 

I still think we need a shake up in the board. Don't let them blind you with those last minute deals. They are more likely down to Rodgers than the board.

We still need at least one football man on there to counter the bankers.

The fact we have had to offload so many players due to the boards obsession with gems and projects should not be forgotten. We need a few seasons where we are continually investing in quality brought in, young players developed to 1st team status and smaller in/ out transfer each season.
