How do you feel about it all in?

Personally I think we've got rid of the deadwood and that's been a struggle for us since all the way back to Mowbary. Gives us scope going into the next windows.

Smashed the glass ceiling in terms of transfer single fees. Record broken twice.

Upgraded on a Keeper and we have succession plan.

Left back that will push Taylor but at the same time probably will start before him.

Idah and Bernardo will reach full potential under Brendan

McCowan I don't know much about but you guys rave about him.

Engels looks built for our league and Europe. Reminds me of Brown but Technically better. Kinda of a Petrov midfielder. Missed that.

The CB * the Blades forum makes him sound like Ambrose but we don't lay out 6 mil if we don't see anything there.

Would have loved a winger. Also big Stu is without a club that should have been a no brainer. Would have filled the Iwata hole.

All in all I'm happy enough with it. The way we're playing. The new UCL format coupled by the draw, I'm buzzing for this season.

Think you've covered my thoughts on it all as well to be honest, just looking forward to getting back to the football now.

From march Sales (inc addons) amounting to around £59m purchaes amounting too £32m added £27m to the cash in the bank. We should have invested a bit more for me another £15m was easily investable. Basically what we will get for Matt we spent!

Will just need to wait and see. I think not signing a winger could bite us on the *. I expected one even after we knocked back bids for palma but it's a 7/10.

    Squad has been streamlined

    6.5/10.

Have said elsewhere and I'll try and make this the last time I say it but I feel like we could have pushed the boat out a bit more.

We have the money there to have made 2 or 3 signings like Engels and then supplement them with the likes of McCowan and Valle on loan for example.

I'm delighted to secure a LB and CB. Engels is a massive step in the right direction in terms of profile and deal structure.

I'm concerned we haven't added to the wide areas. Think we may lack a bit of X factor in the final third in Europe. E.g Podence was often the difference for Olympiacos last year and massively helped win a European trophy. We still lack someone like that. Its not Maeda and I doubt its Kuhn.

Would have really liked to see 2x ambitious level loans, plenty of players surely available. Think another CB is needed too but Nawrocki needs to go first.

I'm happy to see we've streamlined the squad and got rid of a tonne of * too. That can't be overlooked as there's always two sides to a window.

    In January I'd hope for:

    Winger
    CB
    ST
    CDM

We should have enough till then but as I say given the UCL draw I really hoped that would give us emphasis to secure another couple real exciting additions but alas.

Key now is Rodgers manages to get the message across that he mentioned publicly start of the week. We aren't proactive enough and are too slow, you can tell he really REALLY had to convince them to move on certain deals such as Engels IMO. If he can somehow get through to them on a consistent basis and we hire a DoF and restructure the recruitment team as a result of this window it'll then move up to a 10/10 for me in terms of ripple effects.. time will tell on that one.

    Trying to keep it short:

Happy with the deadwood that's been shifted. 6 out on loan I believe, not many if any I see staying next season though.
Shaw, Montgomery, Welsh and Holm seem to be the remaining fringe type that either need to step it up, of make their way elsewhere.
That's superb compared to previous seasons of downing in *.

Let's just be proactive in getting the loaned players to * in the meantime as well (kwon, Tilio etc).

For the players we've brought in, I don't believe at all that we are a stronger squad than last Season. Certainly excited to see Valle, Engels and Kasper more.
Believe Bernardo and Idah will grow as well. But I don't believe we are stronger for Europe.

Streamlined is what we need. Gives us a platform to build now.

Brendan first time around in Europe was unlucky with the draws. Cant wait to see us this year.

Forget the net spend. I'm really positive weve all the tools to crack on this year

Pretty happy to be honest, it didn't go as quick as I'd hoped but it looks solid.

Both goalkeepers picked for their countries for Nations league.
    CB has full internaitional caps.
    LB looks an exciting prospect.
Set a record transfer fee on a Belgium internaitional, national team manager has plans.
Another CM who has done a job in our league.
Return of 2 players who we've seen do well with us and now more settled.

It's hard to judge until we start seeing the players but I'm happy with the ins.

The outs, yeah we lost O'Riley but that's what will happen if players play well. We got rid of deadwood and others who were squad players. Siegrist (3rd choice keeper), Hacksa (8th choice winger), MJ, Iwata, Lagerbielke (albeit a loan) and Oh.

I think that post is dead on hiy. In the boards defence though of we offerd 11 million for Engels 2 weeks ago we ultimately would have had to pay 15.

In term of transfer fees though I firmly believe because we paid 11quid for Engels if he tears it up here and in Europe then he sells for 40million plus. Think the board have woke up now.

I’m happy because a few days ago we were toying with the possibility of a disaster.

    - Upgraded the goalkeeper and backup goalkeeper

    - Improved the centre of defence

    - Finally signed a left back. He looks like a coup as well

    - Adequately replaced Matt O’Riley with a highly rated European prospect, breaking our transfer record for the second time this window.

    - improved the depth in midfield with McCowan

    - Broke our transfer record for Adam Idah. Shouldn’t be taken for granted. Got Bernardo in for an absolute bargain price.

    - Held onto CCV, Hatate and Kyogo despite whispers of interest.

    - Got rid of pretty much every piece of deadwood in the whole squad. Also shouldn’t be taken for granted.

The only thing I’m a bit upset about is the fact we haven’t improved the wide positions. We’re heavily reliant on Maeda, Kuhn and a 33 year old Forrest now.

    I give the window a solid 7.5/10.

If we did things a bit more efficiently and spent big on one more addition on the wing it would’ve been a 10/10. Fine margins. I’m happy though. We’ve got a squad that should * the league and should qualify for the CL playoffs.

Rodgers has had an influence. We've spent more than we would do on fewer players. Quality over quantity. Similarly we've pruned the squad as he wants it smaller.

Largely positive moves but would far prefer we actually built a structure to do that.

If Engels gets game time for Belgium then he will make us money too I reckon.

Knew it would probably work out in the end but why is it left so late. The season started 4 weeks ago and l'm sure some of these deals could have been done long before now

    This is the squad.

Bain, Nawrocki and Yang providing further depth at GK, CB and the Wings respectively for a total of 25 players. Question is, are we better than last season? I think we might be, which seemed far-fetched when we sold O'Riley. Much depends on Engels, obviously.

I'd give it a 6/10 (subject to change depending on performance).

    Positives:

    - Got rid of a lot of deadwood for good fees.

    - Kasper looks an upgrade on Hart, albeit maybe a short-term one.

    - Bernardo and McCowan were both steals.

    - Valle looks promising and will hopefully displace Taylor relatively quick.

    - Engels the standout purchase and a big hint that we're finally progressing our transfer model.

    - Kept hold of Kyogo and Reo.

    Negatives:

    - No proper CDM brought in. Engels will hopefully fill that void but I still think we need an out-and-out monster in there.

    - Don't like the Trusty transfer, especially for £6m. I can't accept that there wasn't anyone better than him out there for similar (or more) money. We should have pushed the boat out there considering it's a vital position. We're a CCV injury away from a bit of a disaster again.

    - Controversial one, but I'm still not completely sold on Idah. We got utterly rinsed by Norwich but I suppose a positive is that it's another indication that we're changing our spending model.

    - No winger signed when it was important that one we brought one in. Pretty ridiculous that we couldn't get anything done there to be honest. Can't help but feel that we're underprepared there for Europe.

    - We still could have spent a lot more than we did and took far too long to get most of these deals done. The 'waiting for quality' argument was just another excuse.

Engels is key. But for what I've herd and seen he should fit right in here.

Have to disagree with LB. Valle will start most games. He's highly rated at Barca. By all means a Kerian Tierney clone and loaned to us on the back of Brendans reputation. Saying that if they done there home work he'll be having hip surgery when he goes back.

    Nah were looking good.
