Luke McCowan

He's an interesting one. Signed his first pro contract when he was 19. Was at his local team East End FC in Greenock until he was 17 and worked as a lifeguard. Definitely a late bloomer and not an academy product. Great success story for him to sign for us, his boyhood club by all accounts .

 

What other position? Winger or something? Yer man on sky seemed to suggest he was only moved into midfield last season

I think he’s a great signing reminds me of John McGinn the way he plays full of energy and fully committed.

 

At least he doesn't need to pretend that he's heard alot about us growing up

The lateness strongly suggests we were after other targets that went right to the wire, as I'm sure we could have signed McCowan for a £1 million at any stage. But that's not to say that it's necessarily a bad deal. Hopefully he proves to be a decent upgrade on Iwata, Holm, Turnbull, et al.

He's actually really good, i'd say without doubt the best player at the bottom 10 teams and by quite a distance, good allrounder in midfield with nothing really missing from his game.

For me better than Hartley and Robson. I'd expect him to have a good career here like Mulgrew, Stokes, Griffiths types.
