ITKs saying we are still getting 4 in... I know I know...

Premier league teams starting to offer players so I'd reckon we will get a surprise loan from there including Engels, Trusty and Sanchez...

Fingers crossed.. that won't be too bad

Fully expect a couple of signings, one may be a decent one and one a random squader with a statement from the board to say we just couldn't get the others over the line.

While I'm not particularly happy with the window, and none of us are, just because people aren't losing their * doesn't make them happy clappers. Happy clappers were the ones defending all the young inexperienced players last summer saying O'Riley, Maeda, VVD etc were cheap.

I think you can also discuss issues the club may face during a window regarding transfers without it outright being a defence of the board.

I have sat on the sidelines for a long time, reading most threads, but this one has been special, Christ almighty, laugh, cry, cringe, laugh again.
The board, are they incompetent=100%, do they have time to redeem themselves?, yes.
I truly believe they know a shitstorm is coming, if they do not deliver-hence I believe signings will be made before deadline.
Big Question is, are they the signings Rodgers wanted above all?.
Could be worse-could be relying on new superstar Jeffe to stop Kuhn come Sunday.

As things stand this window alone we have spent £13m and if Mikey completes his move it will be brought in more than £35m. That does not include the sales of Haksabanovic or Abada that went through between March and June 30th and brought in close to another £10m. As mentioned before the January window largely sales and a sell on largely covered signing Kuhn.

Also a balance of +£8m from potential add ons.

So that’s £32m in transfer profit since the interims, hopefully we make a sizeable debt in that over the next two days. Given we already had significant cash at the bank.

I wouldn't describe myself as a happy clapper, I was absolutely scathing about the last 3 windows; yet I genuinely think this has been an OK window so far. There are plenty of reasons to say that: we've massively reduced the deadwood (and for decent fees); we've been much more proactive in organising loans; importantly, we haven't brought in any new deadwood (unlike last summer!), we've replaced Hart and paid a substantial fee for Idah and even (finally!) brought in a LB! That is an acceptable window for me.

It also has the potential to be a fairly good window (rather than just "acceptable") if we get the deals for Engels and a LCB over the line. Less than 2 days left to be sure; but these negotiations are already quite advanced.

I was very critical last summer (far more critical than most on here IMHO) and I still think we need to overhaul our structure; but iff the board can get these final 2 or 3 deals over the line, the board will deserve a lot of credit IMHO.

If we don't then it doesn't make sense.

Surprised we've not had any names from the premier League yet

Would have expected a few at this point
