2 days to get Engels, Sanches and a good CB signed. That’s the minimum.

Have very little faith in the club to deliver that.

They simply have to mate. Still plenty of time to make 3 signings, especially since Engels and Trusty seem pretty close.

And Celts are deep in talks over a £16million double deal for Arne Engels and Auston Trusty

but Brendan Rodgers is now chasing more additions before Friday’s deadline.

Augsburg star Engels is Celtic’s prime midfield target to replace £30m Matt O’Riley — but the Bundesliga side have knocked back bids.

The Germans want at least £10m for the 20-year-old, who could become Celtic’s most expensive ever signing.

Sheffield United’s central defender Trusty is another target but the Blades want more than the £5m they paid Arsenal for him last summer.

Celtic chiefs are working to get deals over the line and the Hoops could yet step up interest in Dundee captain Luke McCowan in the final hours of the window.

LAFC midfielder Mateusz Bogusz had been on the Hoops’ radar but the MLS side want the Pole to stay put and a deal is unlikely

We’re cutting it fine mate, a lot of moving parts need to come together tomorrow and we’ll have at the very least one eye on the Draw as an entire club. We’ve no got much time left to * about and * about is what we’re best at when it comes to spending money.

Mon Celtic get a move on..

    Engels
    A centre half/Trusty
    Sanches or someone similar
    A winger on loan/to buy

That's what I'm wanting in the next 2 days..

I’m worried too mate. Some things are keeping me calm though:

    - I get the feeling Trusty and Engels want to come. So once fees are agreed it should be smooth

    - Rodgers has made it abundantly clear in the media that he’s not happy. Since then, we seem to have ramped up the bids etc

    - We simply can’t afford to walk away from the Trusty and Engels deals over 1/2m here or there.

So I expect bids to be accepted for that pair tomorrow and both to be signed on Friday at the latest. Then we must sign a midfielder who also plays wide, a la Bogusz. Wouldn’t rule out us going back in for him. Either that or a midfielder AND a winger. A man can dream.

I’m getting the feeling the board are finally realising that we can’t afford to get this transfer window wrong. The last 2 windows have been so completely shambolic. We’ve kicked the can down the road already. THIS is the window which the can has been kicked to. It’s unthinkable to kick said can to January. Fans will rightly go * mental. And Rodgers will be incredibly * off.

You’ll be able to hear him whispering in the background during the draw… “Excuse me sir, do your club have any centre midfielders for sale?”

If we get that it'll be on paper the best window in years both in terms if incomings and the amount of * we've got rid of too.

Don't get it and it'll be a farce.

    Anyway good luck Mr Nicholson

CELTIC have stepped up their interest in Lausanne midfielder Alvyn Sanches.

Brendan Rodgers' men are considering other options after seemingly dropping out of the race for LAFC star Mateusz Bogusz in the last 24 hours.

Augsburg star remains Celtic's No1 target to replace Matt O'Riley following the Dane's big-money move to Brighton but Rodgers could still bring in two midfielders before the end of the window.

Sanches, 21, has been on the Hoops' radar throughout the window and could Lausanne's resolve could be tested with a late swoop as Celtic look for an alternative to Bogusz.

Reports suggest Celtic could push for a last-minute permanent deal for the midfielder but SunSport understands the Swiss club could even be open to an initial loan - with an option to buy.

It's set to be a busy end to the window for Rodgers who is looking to get multiple deals over the line - and a move for Sanches could be one of them.

Celtic could be forced into splashing a club record fee on Engels as Augsburg are believed to be wanting at least £10m for the Belgian.

The German club are standing firm on their valuation of the player and won't be forced into selling their prized asset for cheap.

Celtic could also make a swoop for Dundee skipper Luke McCowan late on in the window as they look for further home grown talent following the departures of Daniel Kelly and Rocco Vata.

But Hibs are still keen on the Dee captain and could make a last-ditch raid on their Premiership rivals too.

In terms of defensive options, Celtic remain in the race for Sheffield United defender Auston Trusty.

Rodgers wants to add another left-sided centre-back to his squad and the American remains his main target.

However, the Blades are looking for more than the £5m they paid to sign him from Arsenal last summer.
