At his best, aye probably. But he’s had a fairly pish time out of the spotlight in a while.

At least at Rennes he’ll likely play regular football at a team who have finished 4th in France the last two seasons, so still a good level.

Like I said, if he shows what he can do there then he could have a bigger move on the horizon next year.

Rennes have on paper one of the better transfer windows in Europe this summer if they land Jota.

 

Exactly, he's done his time here some folk need to let go..

 

Aye it's always nice to have the hope a guy like Jota would come back.
But realistically, his wages and desire to showcase elsewhere (not a negative to us) would always make this very hard to see happen.

All I would hope, is we at least asked him the question.

Impossible, with his tax situation.. would have been hammered on a UK return.

Some price but was it not verging on impossible for us to get him back due to tax etc?

 

Couldn't we have just offered a big signing on fee, ffs, we've bought 2 guys who couldn't lace his boots for way more.

Ok maybe he fancies France but this tax issue is rubbish, ffs the guys available for just over £6.5m.

 

Come on Celtic hijack that * move... the 11pm announcement alone would recoup the £10mill we spend n signing him.
