Luke McCowan

He hasn't been properly linked again since June.

I've no doubt we might be keeping tabs on him, but I 100% believe we haven't been interested in him since June, but the papers know he isn't a popular signing so his name will generate clicks.

As you said, if we really wanted him we'd have signed him back in July.

 

I think he's a good player / Turnbull level... would nab him

 

I think we'll see him as the safety net if all else fails but tbf I thought the same about Beck

 

Unless he's a backup target in case we miss out on other players. Still genuine interest, just not a top priority.

 

You weren’t wrong with Beck to be fair. It’s no coincidence that he moved to Blackburn right after we agreed the Valle move.

I doubt you’re wrong here either. If all else fails, McCowan would be cheap, do a job domestically and fill a homegrown slot for Europe.

 

Dundee are yet to give Hibs an answer for their 750k bid for McCowan.
They are possibly waiting to see if we will come in with a higher bid as they wont want to lose him on a pre contract or for buttons in January.
He is a celtic fan and he could end up being what Robson was for us. He is a useful footballer and has a good left foot. Could allow Hatate to play a more advanced role also.

He isnt a big name, but what he has put in some stand out performances and good numbers in a relatively short space of time, including some good performances against Rangers.

 

Considering the glacially slow pace we do business at, no I don't think we would.

 

Time to get the bid in Celtic

 

A few Hibs outlets saying its still being considered. I reckon if we bid between £750k-£1m they would accept as Mccowan will want to come

 

We should offer 1 million and throw in holm on loan for year.
That lad needs game time and we need experienced spl player who do job for us when need be

 

More interested in this guy than Alwyn Sanches tbh. Could be a decent squadplayer.

 

This is a no brainer to me, he’s better than a people are giving him credit for and Holm walks into their team and gets a full season of football under his belt.

100% no from me. If we get him I'll support him, but he'll probably not play more than 1 game in his celtic career before vanishing and then being sent back to dundee etc once his times up. Not good enough.

 

Possibly doing what we tried to do with McGinn. Leave it to the last minute so Dundee will take whatever we offer. Get him for £800,000 instead of 1m.

 

Wouldn't surprise me to see us going in with a £800k bid with a B team player on loan or maybe even a yang/holm/iwata to them for then season

 

And it's also understood Dundee's Luke McCowan remains on Brendan Rodgers' radar - with 24 hours of the window left.

Hibs are also desperate to land the Dens Park captain but the Hoops have always retained an interest.


And Rodgers could launch a late bid to bring him to Parkhead before the deadline.

McCowan would be eligible to fill one of the eight club or 'association-trained' berths in the A-list - should Celtic formalise their interest.

Agreed … but if it’s a case of Trusty, McGowan and a really good winger then that’s not too bad
