Don't need squad players like willo flood, Scott Allan, need first teamers.
Only way he adds value is if we are pushing Iwata, Holm etc out on loan - otherwise pointless signing

Think most people believe he's a very decent player but we need players to step in and straight away be challenging for a starting slot. We have Bernardo, Holm, Iwata as good midfield squad options already. If we need further squad players after that we should be looking to the academy first. Francis Turley for example.

    Even then, still pointless.

Would need to push out everyone bar McGregor, hatate and Bernardo just so he can be in the backup trio. But then, why waste the time and effort of moaning out iwata and Holm in favour of this lad? I'd rather develop the other two first and foremost over him.
That goes for any other backup/squad player. Zero point signing more of them to replace other backup/squad players. Just streamline what we have and use what's already there.

    Add quality above that level.

Last week's got the hallmarks of that happening.

Massive failure of a transfer window if so.

For any club, at any level, exiting the transfer window weaker than you went in is a failure.

Right now, status quo, we haven't improved a single iota, save for the minimal investment in a keeper for 3 years time.

In fact, when we lose MoR, and if , Gid forbid Kyogo, we will exit this window with another half baked bunch "projects and punts".

On the football side if things, we are * joke. A disgrace. An absolute travesty of wasted potential.

But our FOOTBALL CLUB isn't run like a one. Its run like a * Starbucks franchise. A profit machine designed to maximise returns, dole out bonuses and keep the share price where it is.

We'll all be apoplectic after this window.

The board will be toasting it as a success. Readying their excuses for the agm, with Brendan told to hold the company line, or else...

I think he is ahead of Iwata and Holm, if Matt leaves I think he will step in as 4th choice midfielder

We've also signed excellent squad players from Scottish teams too.. Robson, Hartley, McDonald, Armstrong and so on..

I think McCowan would be an excellent addition as long as we add further quality too.

Scenes if he’s the first signing we announce :giggle1:

I want him in but that would not be a good look

JUST a reminder there hasn't been another link really since Wednesday. Anything else has been regurgitating the same stuff.

It was randomly bumped last night. So no need to panic yet.

Personally if we signed someone for 8-10m e.g Engels and brought McCowan in I wouldn't grumble..I think he'd surprise many people. Technically he looks more than good enough to contribute here and would improve playing with mcgregor etc.

Rodgers said in his most recent presser that he wants starters that improve us not guys to solidify the squad. McCowan is in the later category. He doesn't immediately improve us.

I genuinely think McCowan could do a job for us. Even as a squad player to allow players rest after CL games. We also need Scottish players for Europe he’s got to be better than the alternative which are the b team Scottish players. I’m gonna take a look at him today when Dundee play hibs

I would see McCowan as that though, a rotational starter. Aimed at no one in particular I think some in here just see he is nearly 27, plays for Dundee and say no

We’ll have missed a trick if we don’t sign him, really hope it happens.

Can see he’s fighting an uphill battle here with the lack of quality from some of his teammates around him. Clear standout for them again

1m. Sign him. As long as we bring in another higher quality cm like Engels etc be more than happy to offload Iwata and bring this lad in to rotate

I'd sign him, Bogusz and Engels means Holm and Yang could be loaned out and Mikey Johnston sold as they'd probably not be needed then.

    McGregor Iwata
    Bogusz Engels Bernardo Hatate McCowan
That would be great depth in midfield with Engels able to cover the full-back positions, Bogusz can play out wide and up front so they'd maybe get games in those positions
