Makes too much sense. Randomise me a defender from Scandinavia who we won’t play and you have a deal

This is a shout btw. Was a standout agains the huns when they played Braga a couple year back.

It’s not really my shout, it was @Celtic_Daft1888 who first mentioned him in player suggestions but since seeing it I read into his situation because like you I remember him being a top prospect at Braga.

Turns out his old Porto manager Sergio Conceicao really didn’t fancy him and he ultimately went on loan to Olympiakos and done well for the second half of last season. They had an option to buy but had so many loan players I don’t think they could afford to buy them all, including Podence.

However, Carmo isn’t getting a game just now at Porto again and the chance to test himself at CL level could possibly appeal? Porto didn’t qualify for CL this year.

100% should be all over Carmo.

Strange no one has came in to sign him, given he was brilliant for Olympiakos last season. There's a few from Portugal we should be all over. As a winger, we should be asking the question about Gouveia from Benfica, too. Very good prospect and doesn't seem to have a chance at Benfica. Schjelderup would be another shout for the wing.

Huns have been linked with Gouveia. Yesterday.

I seen that on SSB last night. I'd be surprised if they brought in more wingers. They have a bunch at the minute that they can't get off the books.

Cerny, Cortes, Matondo, Wright, McAusland... not including players like Cantwell/Lawrence can play on the wing, too. They need far more than another winger. Plus, think they're close to signing Brekalo from Fiorentina. According to my father in law, anyways.

Signed for Olympiacos for 11M€ + 4M€ in bonus, for a total of up to 15M€, according to reliable sources. He's an expensive CB (Porto paid 20M€) and Olympiacos tried to lower the transfer fee. Record fee for a Greek club anyway.

Depends if he wants another crack at a top league or if he'd prefer to stay where he's loved, win trophies and play in the CL.

He's never even hinted at angling for a more so never know.

Hopefully he turns out to be one of those core players who stays long term. Given he is 26 now if he did stay long term I could see him down the road been the successor to Callum McGregor as Celtic captain. Whether any of that is realistic only time will tell.

Expect an injury or a transfer away when this is bumped - grim either way!

Or, as a positive, signs a new improved contract that he totally deserves.

CELTIC have been rocked by a major injury curveball on the eve of the first Old Firm match of the season.

That's because there's been no sightings of defensive linchpin Cameron Carter-Vickers in the open part of training at Lennoxtown today.

The big American defender went down with an ankle injury in the first half against St Mirren last weekend but went on to play the full game.

He would be a massive loss from the Hoops backline - with the likes of Stephen Welsh or even new recruit Auston Trusty potentially in line to deputise alongside Liam Scales.

There's still another day of training to go before the big clash at Celtic Park on Sunday lunchtime

    Ahhhh......

The usual good ol' anti-celtic news report coming out days before we play them.

    File under P for Pish.
