Aye, agree with all that. I'm just relieved to have it done to be honest, regardless of the fee.

Four more required as you say. Let's see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

Personally I think we’ve overpaid for the player.

It’s clear as day we’ve wanted him for a while, with the board being under increasing pressure from the fans to get something to happen, and then Kyogo going off injured…I wouldn’t be surprised if we never actually had a plan B.

Reckon we’ve tried to play hardball and it’s backfired.

If the board were any good we’d have bough both of them.

So you believe Miovski is a better player or as good as Idah. Thats one * of an assumption to make considering Idah has proven he can handle playing for Celtic and score huge goals. And of course there are better * players somewhere out there for less than £8.5 million but what the * makes you so sure Celtic can identify them? No doubt you can pull an example like O’Reilly out of your * but for every Matt O’Reilly there are countless duds that Celtic have signed, especially in the striking department.

Adam Idah sounds very similar to Georgios Samaras

    We deserve it tbh.

We won't miss that extra 2 or 3 million. I reckon we wanted to get him for 6, max. Grand scheme of things what difference will it make to us as fans anyway.

With the money from Oh and Lawal as well its basically not even taking away from cash we had before the summer.

Significant money for us but * it, it's no my money and as I've said before and so have others, even if there is better out there for the same money, I don't trust our "scouting department" (no laughing at the back) to find them anyway. He basically paid for himself when he helped us secure a double last season, so I'm very happy to finally get him in.

A breath of fresh air to see some moths finally flying out the biscuit tin. Worth every penny if Brendan gets his man. Squad is needing proper investment and hopefully he is the first of a few in the door now. Better late than never.

Finally pulled the trigger and spent good money and people complain.

Strikers cost money, they always have. Even if we have overpaid or don't get our money back from a transfer I don't really give a * as long as he does the business.

Plenty positives in this. Just need to make our peace wi the deal. Norwich done, what we've done many a time to others. You brag about your wealth to the markets. Clubs aren't daft to this.

Get him in and starting against Hibs.

Now, keep the Klarna account open and get 4 more in ya dicks!

Another way of looking at it,
Idah & Bernardo for a combined cost of 12 mil, we'd have expected that at the end of last season.

I think a better way to look at this is £6.5 million + Lawal.

If we sold Idah at the end of last season we'd expect a minimum of 15-20 mill

I totally get all that. I'm on record saying that we are way behind in the current market when it comes to forking out fees and that we've been conditioned into thinking anything over £4m is a lot of money.

However, I still don't think Idah is worth what we're about to pay. Now I could be totally wrong and he could bang in 30+ goals for us this season and perform well in Europe too. I'd * love that so I hope I am.

But we're talking about Norwich's 2nd/3rd choice striker deemed surplus in January who did well in patches for us over 5 months. He had some great games, but equally had some poor ones where his touch, finishing or decision making left a lot to be desired.

Pretty much every Norwich fan I've seen online are stunned and delighted with the price we're paying, saying they've rinsed us etc. So this time, I don't think it's a case of us being conditioned about the potential transfer fee, I just don't think what we're paying reflects his true value.

We've overpaid, it's as simple as that. It looks worse because they clearly haven't budged in their valuation and now we're utterly desperate. I would be amazed if anyone on here would've be happy with paying this much for him at the end of last season. But because our transfer window has been a catastrophe again, we're choking to get him on board.

As I've said, if he repays his fee over the next couple of years, I doubt anyone, myself included, would have any complaints. There's an element of risk in all transfers, just gotta hope this one pays off.

That's true. But we can still attain at least 2 if not 3 players. We need more, but have to accept that's maybe unrealistic with how we operate sadly.

But 2/3 genuine 1st starters, from say a LB, winger, CDM, CB, that leaves us in a far better position. Just need to get moving.

That is the way to look at it. Now if we get £25M for Riley, we will have more spending power to bring some more pace and power to the team.

Idah and Bernado certainly address the pace and power demanded by the manager, so I think we are on the right course.

2.5 weeks still to go, plenty could still happen.

I'm stunned at the fee. More so Celtic board paying it. For that fee he has to be the No1 striker and the cynical in me isn't convinced he is THAT good. Wow
