dont doubt his skill but will he be strong/tough enough for SPL type football. Arteta is a good player but he couldnt handle SPL argy bargy. He looks slight to me.

..cos on the basis of the other hundreds of minutes that we've seen this season, Scott Brown is a fud.

Too many people are far too naive, they criticise Strachan's lineups then they pick their own completely different XIs.
Its annoying because they clearly don't know the system very well, or the way Scottish football is played. And then people base opinions on short appearances e.g O'Dea, Caddis. You can't put all attacking players in a midfield unless your playing Fantasy Football, you need someone to sit back i.e Hartley. People can't realistically think Crosas should have played in the game on Sunday, he's a young foreign kid playing abroad for the first time and you want to pit him against dirty * like Adam and Thomson to get kicked about for 90 minutes?
Experience is another huge factor as well. O'Dea may have played well in two games against AC Milan and Caddis did reasonably well against Barcelona, but it has got to be easy motivating yourself to play huge teams like that. David Marshall springs to mind.

Week in week out is another factor altogether, and who's to say they wouldn't just fade away something like Naylor in his second season.

People are entitled to their opinions but if you think for a second about circumstances and different partnerships you'll see that the majority of the first XI picked by the manager is the right choice.

    For the record:

    --------------Boruc----------------
    Wilson--Caldwell-----McManus---Naylor
    ------------Hartley---Robson (introducing Crosas gradually)
    ---Nakamura-----Maloney-----McGeady-------
    -----------------Vennegoor-----------------
