Bit of an odd link. Very different from our usual transfer target and no sure where he fits in. If he's coming in as a utility/squad player I'd imagine he is an expensive option. No real knowledge of the guy so could be inspired but definitely not our normal type

He’s not a left back so him being a target to essentially take over from Taylor would be a concern.

I wouldn’t say I support palace but they are my “english team”. Personally I love Schlupp, one of those guys that gives you 100% every minute hes on the park. Not the best technically but definitely not limited. Would do a job here in midfield or wide.

He is already a squad player at palace and probably isnt in the starting xi going into the season. Dont know where he would fit in here (assuming left back?) as I imagine the only way he moves north is to be a starter.

He played for his national team at left back and also player a majority of his games for Leicester at LB or LWB

Maybe LWB for when he wants to go 3-5-2 of more powerful runner in UCL

Not a project and not from Korea, so, could well be worth a punt.

He hasn’t played as a LB consistently since 2017. He’s a utility player whose strengths lie in his running and attacking.

Probably good enough at LB to get away with it domestically but wouldn’t be so keen on him defensively in Europe.

He looks like he'd run through a huns MF for fun, as he was dragging wee Todd around with by his curls.

    Sign him up.

He’s a good player. Would bring experience and versatility. Absolutely not against it TBH.

For me, it only really makes sense, from his perspective, to join as our LB.

Aye he's a versatile player, but unless he's guaranteed gametime there wouldn't be much reason for him to leave Crystal Palace for us if he isn't going to be first choice. He won't get ahead of Hatate or Maeda at CM and LW, so I could only see him coming here as a LB who can fill in elsewhere when needed

I think Playing LB for us is an easy sell too. It's just as attacking as a LW at Palace would be

I thought this as well domestically out left back will spend 70% of a game attacking most weeks. Rodgers will know what he is getting as well having managed him before.

In fact I would suspect if we have asked about his availability there probably has already been a conversation to see if he would be up for it.

I imagine he'll be available, he started.most games under Hodgson but was largely a late substitute under Glasner

Actually quite like Schlupp and think he’d do a job for us, but this link sets off major alarm bells.

It’s that old “Brendan, we’re a man short; do you know anyone?” text a couple of hours before 5s. Hardly a ringing endorsement of our organisation and recruitment.

From a planning perspective, I can’t really decide what’s worse - the idea of going 5 years needing a proper left back signing and then signing someone who barely qualifies as a left back to fill the void, or the idea that he’s a potential O’Riley/Hatate replacement.

Get this angle completely but in both Ange’s case and Brendan’s to date, it’s turned out their suggestions have been the ones that have flourished more often than not.

Kyogo, Daizen, Reo, Mooy, Idah and I don’t doubt Kasper will join that list as well.

I think it’s fairly clear to see we don’t have the appropriate structure in place from a recruitment perspective so calling on the managers contacts is a decent enough angle to take, particularly given they’re not going to bring in a player they don’t like or think they can work with.
