It's "derisory" bcoz it's less than what we got for that useless * Oh.

Pay what the guys worth or at very least make an offer that meets them halfway and gives them something to think about. No matter how long we wait and get the player to do our work for us they are never accepting £4m. Probably even less likely now due to our behaviour.

Classic Lawwell, same approach cost us John Mcginn and started the ball rolling for Rodgers departure the last time.

Really any proper team with 70m in the bank and one striker would have a list of a few very real options close to being concluded. If we had that then we could play silly buggers all we like with the Idah bid because we would also have a Miovski lined up or someone else of similar quality ready to go.

We don't do that. We treat every signing as if it's some great arduous ordeal that requires months of work and drama. And if it falls through we fawn around telling everyone how tough it is to sign players. It's absolute * hour. If the Idah deals falls through and we end up having to do a last minute loan deal to fill the gap then it will be Celtics fault 100%.

 

Aye. Folk say it costs the player and the agent money, but we could surely make that up to them in the signing-on and agent’s fees.

 

If they moved the goalposts should we not be moving on to another target ? Or are we waiting it out hoping they get that * off with him that they let him go for that agreed price eventually ?

Latter seems more likely. Which sounds very risky.

 

The latter is very like us unfortunately. Seem to be trying the same with the Belgian winger too

 

We tried the waiting game with McGinn before, refusing to pay what Hibs wanted in the expectation McGinn would wait the year to sign for * all.

Only for Villa to step in.

As a club, we are very much willing to take the risk of waiting it out solely for Idah and not bother our * for another target.

If it was me, I'd be publicly offering for miovski and seeing what Aberdeen say.

Norwich want 9m for idah, Aberdeen agree to 5m for miovski - would be a no brainer.

We absolutely do scout players.

 

We employ scouts, so them. Don’t know about the recruitment strategy. It’s how we negotiate transfers that appears (from the outside) to be our biggest issue.

Even more risky when u consider that our only striker has a dodgy shoulder that has a history of popping out in August time.

Idah situation drags on another couple of weeks and all it takes is for injury to Kyogo before or early on in Cup tie and we are then looking at the real possibility of our treble chances falling at 1st hurdle for the 2nd year in a row due to our * recruitment.

 

Yep, it just needs 1 hammer thrower to leave the boot in on the wee man and we are * big time. I really don’t know if it’s arrogance or incompetence within the club but why do we always make hard work of transfer targets?

 

Do we know Aberdeen will agree to that? Or is that the price they qoute the rest of Europe. Add in same league celtic tax and we'll be paying the same as idah. 1 we know works and is happy as backup. The other is still a risk and may not be happy as backup.

 

Just a price I used as an assumption.

We wouldn't know till we asked the question though.

I'm fine with Idah, at the right price.

As you say though, as backup, he isn't worth the quoted 9m they seem to be asking though.

As much as any deal is a risk, even idah is still a risk, no one can seriously say he's worth 9m and that we can not get better for that or less.

idah aint the only striker in world football ,dont even know if he could cut it in the champions league ,thats the level we should aiming for not the cheapest

 

Yea must be better strikers than him about Europe for same price. Maybe polish guy karol angielski ??

 

This has deadline day signing written all over it.

Because he's burnt his bridges with Norwich when we finally do get him in we will get the not up to speed line.
