Ffp and not just English ffp is having an effect on the market I think but here’s a point we have record revenues last season from cl and domestic football and it’s expected to be higher this season with new commercial and tv deals negotatied for the next five seasons so can see that 50 million wall being breached from tv and prize money so our league revenue has went up therefore Southampton thinking they can put in same offers as they did for vvd or wanyama is not gonna fly especially when Celtic have money to spare in the bank

I guess this is the actual advantage of having money in the bank, we aren’t forced to sell anyone, so we can rightly sit back and demand fair value.

That’s true. It just goes against us when we look to buy players, so works both ways a bit.

Aye to try and get O’Riley for the roughly the same as they did VVD & Wanyama is a brass neck, and should be treated with the contempt the offer deserved.

Genuinely not saying this because I'm a Celtic fan and I know they're different type of midfielders but O'Riley is miles better than Gallagher.

How Gallagher managed to convince Chelsea to make him captain is utter madness. He's not good enough for any top 8 side. Madrid making a huge mistake, for me. He won't come cheap, either. * were wanting about £40m for him.

How do you know what the add-ons the article mention come to? It says '£14m plus add ons'.

They are unlikely to amount to anywhere near what his value is. Hence why I said roughly the same amount. So they can get to *.

Knew I recognised the name @Ted Bates. You were floating about when Southampton come in for Wanyama or Van Dijk eh? Southampton are a diddy club mate and will go down again at some point in the near future. Because that’s what they do.

If the up front is only £14m I don't see £11m worth of achievable add ons being there. The figure is a pittance, they were buying players from us for £9-12m 10 years ago.

Teams bidding low will basically be trying to turn MOR's head hoping he goes in a huff to force a move away. Can't see him being like that tho.

Usually, I don't have a problem with clubs coming in with low fees. We do it, they'll do it, it's basically part of the negotiation circus that goes on from every club.

What I do think is a * riddy is Southampton trying to get the deal done for £14m, which is £300k less than what Atalanta were offering a few days ago and was flatly rejected. That's just wild, regardless of the add ons.

It seems like we are waiting for O'Riley to move before we make any signings ourselves outwith Bernardo which is done by all accounts.

Glad, but I'd still want new players in.

I kinda thought that too, even though it's not like we need the money.

Don't. Don't do that to me. You'll get my hopes up and then we'll sell him just as I start to believe. :54:

He won't though. He will probably go just at the end of the window just after we were all starting to get a bit of hope that he might stay

Start talking at £25 million, should be looking to get £30 million for him. You see some of the dross that goes for that amounts down in England and we are in no need to sell
