O'Riley had 37 G+A last season. I read that was the highest in Europe for any midfielder. That included 3 assists in the UCL (we only scored 5).

I'll say it again, we should not be entertaining any bid shy of £30 million. If you aren't willing to cough up the cash, don't bother enquiring.

£14m-£20m bids are absolutely insulting and should be treated as such.

As a player I'd refuse to even speak to a club who only values me at such a pitiful amount. Pay up and show me how much I'm wanted. Cheap *.

Presumably those bids will increase, otherwise they wouldn't be making them. In the meantime, it destabilises the player and potentially lowers the perceived market value of the player. When it gets up to around the £18m mark, then you it's likely only a matter of time.

Southampton shouldn't even be in the discussion for him.

At Madrid, Inter, Atalanta, Liverpool, all with various levels of interest in him.
If I was Matt, I'd the telling the club to reject any bid from Southampton, regardless of the fee. He's miles better than that level.

Our top players don't need that middle club jump that Southampton quite rightly previously exploited from us.
Our players can now go directly to Arsenal and Lyon sort of level.

Several, similar lowball offers indicate the perceived value of MoR / Scottish football and it's nowhere near our valuation, plus we don't need to sell.

I think he's staying.

 

Atletico Madrid signing Connor Gallagher apparently so they won’t be in for MOR.

 

They were looking for a loyal customer discount.

 

I'm usually Mr Optimist but starting to get weird vibes about this, These offers are absolutely * and quite rightly rejected and I get that Matt is a great professional and not kicking up a fuss but I do feel he was wanting to move on this summer and I don't see Southampton or Atalanta increasing their bids by a great deal.. maybe up to 20 mill max.

He's worth loads more but if the bids don't come in at the level we expect and he is wanting to move on I think we'll accept some * offer. I really hope I'm wrong but it's just been niggling at me.
