Foreign Takeover ?

I would much prefer to see the fans take over the club like the liverpool fans are trying to do. How great would it be to own a part of the club. All moneys would be reinvested. If someone wanted to be president they would have to put up money for players. If they werent doing the job we could do something about it because we would have the power. As big a club as Celtic is, it wouldnt cost as much to buy out as an EPL club would. We have little debt, a great stadium, & state of the art training facilitys, there's never been a better time for the fans to take over & invest in the club & lead us in the direction WE want to see the club go.

 

i think a takeover would only put us into more debt, which in my opinion would only make less money available for players

No. When these guys' are gone those clubs are going to be in dire straits.
Plus most of the money is dirty if you ask me.

 

we need someone to invest cause this current board will not spend.we needed 2 players and we had the huns on their knees but we spent * all the huns who are skint go out spend more once again trophies are just aa important than profits peter

 

nobody would buy a spl team.it just dosent have the same attraction.i would not welcome it either beacuse celtic is a close knit club that feels like family.i would be afraid that with many millions you would lose the unique atmosphere we are so famous for.and as somebody said that not all takeovers come out as planned such as romanov.

It would be absolutely brilliant to have that kind of money to throw about.

But, What happens when they get bored? or It aint fashionable to own a football club any longer and they walk away, leaving our club in tatters and it's soul ripped out? Romanov, case in point.

We need to move to, or create a bigger league and attract the kind of money that the EPL enjoys, i'd rather see that happen.

 

No I want a board of Celtic supporters. Although I suppose technically speaking ROI is a foreign country, i wouldnt object to a takeover by a rich Irishman

i'm probs wrong... but if true maybe he plans to do a romanov and buy more and more as time goes by, i do hope so, cuz look at what we can do with limited funds, now imagine what we could acheive with a heft kitty.... our club along with rankers are a money making machine waiting to explode on the world market.

EDIT: just read a post above, i would be happy with an american takeover cuz a huge percentage of yanks have scottish/irish links.. but would have to be under the right circumstances wich i would imagine the current board would do the proper deal

Look at how Liverpool have been screwed by those two yanks.

Someone on the radio (didn't hear it myself) that that LFCs position with Gillette is that it's like owning a £150,000 house with a £1.5 million mortgage!

He doesn't have enough funds. He's not as wealthy as people think....Not wealthy enough to buy and then plough mega bucks into building the team.

 

Celtic have a billionaire owner already! He just wont part with his cash

scottish clubs just won a 170mill tv deal with setanta so thats a start and i wouldnt say uninvestable..well the top 4 could do well with finances behind em as with every league in the world theres only 2-4 top sides so we are no different in that respect, and celtic have a worldwide audience wich is growing every yeart so its inevitable it will happen at some point in time.

 

I would rather see us in the EP and gain money through that, our merchandising would go through the roof as would money from sponsership etc. It would take us time to be able to compete with the top four.......but the excitement level for us the supporters would be fantastic. Just my opinion.

 

we would lose our identity if we join the ep i think, id be more intrested in a euro super league but that aint ever gunna happen now the g14 have split......
