I've no problem with bringing him in, especially for 4 mill. He's shown some flashes, but I don't see him as anything than more than a good squad player and definitely want someone better as an O'Riley replacement..

 

Aye. He's more like an industrious midfielder than a creative one, which O'Riley is. If O'Riley goes then we only really have Hatate, maybe McGregor if pushed up as the creative outlets in there.

 

O'Riley is a high bar for anyone to be compared to. I'm glad we're signing him as he's turned up against the huns.

 

We need to compare to matts first season. You cannot compare to his final season when we've developed him fully. If comparing both, stats wise he isn't far off at all.

 

Probably not a popular opinion but to me he's not of the same calibre as MOR and £4.2m and 18k pw is more than we ought to be paying for him. I think it's just kind of a lazy deal from Celtic and not one that takes us forward in that area of the pitch.

 

I'd much rather we signed Callum O'Hare who's out of contract from Coventry. I guess we could still sign both of them, but I'll believe it when I see it. Chances are Bernardo will replace O'Riley in our starting 11.

Also matt Oriley was a 1.5 million gamble at the time could he make the step up hence the fee …. The fee that’s been agreed for Bernardo is after haloing win a league and champions league experience so ovb the fee was gonna be higher

Idah was always going to take ages. There manager is new. Idahs stats per minute speak for themselves. He's late in the window.

A goalkeeper... we either have a main target but couldn't go ahead due to euroes etc then fine. If we do go on and sign some free contract or someone who was available for months then yes ill agree incompetence. I'm calmer than most and if we must wait due to euroes etc for the best then so be it.

 

He shouldn't be late in the window. By all accounts he's made it clear to his club that he wants to join Celtic. And Rodgers is desperate to sign him. If he's too expensive, fine move on. But there's no excuse for it to drag on another few weeks.

The Euros argument is one I've seen from a few people. It's bollocks. Even if we are after players who were at the Euros, none of them will be coming from any of the teams that have made it far in the tournament. And regardless of that, just because players are at the Euros doesn't mean any transfer negotiations are off limits. Man Utd are close to signing two Dutch players who will be playing tonight, for example.
