The reports rubbish imo. We loaned him so we no exactly what he earns as we've been paying it. Just a month or two ago a report came out saying he was earning 5k a week. Believable as he was in the youths. Suddenly a we article pops out to get clicks with substantially higher amount that happens to match top earners. Sure it is. Csn see right through it.

Media have no idea what they are on about (what a surprise)
Let the clubs hash it out. To be honest although I think he's a good player and will go on to have a great career. If we don't want him then I fully expect our scouting department to have 3 or 4 names for that position that they are also looking at. As you know that is their job. :56:

If he's takIing home 20kpw after tax, then he must be on near 40kpw. If he was starting each week then yeah I would probably pay it but he's not. We also have to stick to our 80% of income on wages, agent fees and transfer fees and paying him that now would still leave us with a huge gap once O'Riley goes.

Then again there seems to be contradicting stories, so I wouldn't be surprised if he signs. If he doesn't I'll be * as with both him and O'Riley leave we don't really have a very good midfield going into the start of the season with McGregor, Hatate, Iwata, Holm, Kelly and Kwon.

Could do with a couple experienced older ex epl guys who still have a couple seasons left in the legs. Would calm our entire team down when only leading by 1 goal.

He isn't, if O'Riley leaves he needs properly replaced. Replacing him with Bernardo would be really poor.

He is an average squad player at best, don't see the hype in him and definitely not worth the transfer fee or wages involved, would prefer if We sign Callum O'Hare from Coventry on a free transfer than waste money on a squad player like Bernardo.

He'll step up with more responsibility, him and O'Riley were similar styles and both lacked pace together, we will definitely need another midfielder with pace though.
Question marks remain over hatates form and fitness,
Mcgregor will need to start getting a rest.
    Iwata isn't great.

To be honest I'm not that brothered if we sign him or not.. I thought he was ok for us, nothing special.

But again its just the absolute shambles that seems to be every * window with this club and the * arseholes running it.

This is a lad that's been at the club months and we have a buy clause, surely ta * wages and fees could of been sorted ages ago especially if BR wants him..

A week in and I'm already losing my * with this board..same * every season. Selling our best players to be replaced by projects and absolute nobodies.. I'm away for a walk..

I think that's more likely, or he's just got a good accountant.

Do you not think we already know what his salary is? We negotiated a loan with option to buy and will 100% know his salary.

The media reports are a whole big load of steaming horseshit

I just can't see Benfica giving him that sort of wage tbh.

    They're a well ran club.

Lots of players are still on holiday and probably want and need the break. I still think we'll sign him.

Daily record saying we’ve pulled out as his wages are too high to match. £16,500 a week apparently. So roughly the same wages turnbull was on.
If it’s true it’s a shame as I think he’s a very good player with huge potential

I'd have been astonished if Turnbull was on £16,500 a week. Where did that come out?

£16,500 isn't a high wage for a Portuguese under21 captain who still has lots of development.

Our board just need to all go shower of *
