We needed better when he was here, but he's better than what we have now - other than CCV.

He's worse on the ball than Scales (who gets crucified for that aspect of his play) but he's a better defender in every other sense. There were a couple of games where he completely dominated defensively which I don't really feel any of our other defenders (except CCV) can do. If the board can't find someone better than Scales elsewhere I'd take him back.

It's a weird one. I'd be happy with the transfer per se as he instantly improves our defence by quite a lot; but it would be another indictment of the recruitment team IMHO. We ought to be able to find players of that quality or better without them literally having to contact the manager to ask to come here.

I keep thinking of that goal Miovski scored. I remember watching him score with surprising ease and thinking that he doesn't score that if it's Starfelt instead of Nawrocki. It's something I've thought about quite a lot since then. For that alone, I'd welcome him back.

I would 110% take that option.

Absolutely take. Even if we punt Lagerbielke and Nawrocki and bring in another more reliable physical centre half I would be happy.

Our defence needs massively upgraded if we’re going to make any decent of effort in Europe.

He’s miles better than Scales on the ball. Starfelt was guilty of the odd stupid/* pass. Scales genuinely has at least 5 of those every game he plays.

Might be a scorching hate take but not only do I think Scales is better on the ball, I don't even think it's particularly close :giggle1: Like I said it's the only area I'd give him over Starfelt but Starfelt was so limited on the ball that Kobayashi came in looking like De Bruyne.

Very gettable as well. Doesn't break the bank, improves us. Would go down well wi the fans. BR could improve them a bit.

    I'm sold.

Fair play mate if that's your take on it.

I disagree, especially having seen Scales decline so rapidly over a 6month period approx.

I'd happily have Starfish back now over Scales, but only because Scales is * hopeless.

Always like starfelt, had a great partnership with ccv. Always felt some criticism of him was harsh, not a great centre back but definitely reliable enough

Him and CCV formed a great partnership so yes I would have him back in that respect.

But, we should be looking forward and not backwards.

I thought Startfelt was poor on the ball but i think his main issue was he was right footed playing on the left side. Always seemed to take 3-4 steps to balance himself :giggle1:

If we were to sign a left sided CCV and have Starfelt as backup, i’d be cool with that.

Both Starfelt and Scales are pretty bad on the ball, but both usually play riskier passes which I don't mind at all.

Scales' passing deteriorated over the season. When he first came in to the team his passing was pretty good. Nightmarish towards the end though.

Starfelt is quicker and more mobile, which suits us much better. But their defensive abilities are pretty comparable outwith that imo.

Starfelt suited an Ange side perfectly. There’s better players out there now for what we’d be looking for as a partner for CCV in a Rodgers one.

The ex players links are now becoming tedious as *. There’s barely a player left from the last 5 year we’ve no been linked with. Yawn.

I do agree we can get better but look at what was signed last season and who ended up a mainstay..

He's levels above all of them..

If we could sign a quick, bruising, left footed monster with a range of passing....then it'd be Starfelt who. He's a proven player here that would be able to seamlessly pick up his partnership with Carter-Vickers..
