I'd put good money on neither France or England winning it. Two overrated teams - take Mbappe out of the France team and they're average as *. Dembele must be the biggest fraud in football. Both managers have them set up to play horrible football too.

It'll be one of Germany, Spain or Portugal who wins it.

 

France under Deschamps are pish to watch.

 

Nah, the French are rightly favourites, Austria are a very good team and they played well but France were a level above..

And they do have Mbappe who's pace kills teams..

Hernadez, Griezman and Kante also class. Don't really see any weaknesses. Think they'll win it.

Looking forward to seeing Portugal today as well tho.

 

France, England, Netherlands and those huge nations never seem to impress me. Germany though always show up. Im mostly impresssed by small nations during these tournaments.

 

I think England and France are going to be found out in this competition , whith both overrated teams getting embarrassed in the knock out stages.

 

Fair enough mate, opinions and all that. I personally think they play a horrible style of football that relies solely on the pace and quality of Mbappe. If he has an off day they're *. Dembele and Thuram have zero end product and moves break down with them constantly. I think they're overrated and will be found out in this competition, especially if Mbappe is injured for a spell.

 

Too many greedy * in that French team, especially that Thuram.

 

Portugal to come but the only teams who have a realistic chance of winning it and have impressed me so far have been Germany and Spain. Spain probably more so, given they were playing a good team like Croatia.

I reckon Portugal will be good tonight, though. They have some really top players.

Think that's a tad harsh/short sighted on France.
They're far more than mbappe and have been for years.
Mbappe made his debut for France in 2017, Deschamps has been their manager since 2012. They was building a superb squad long before mbappe was even on the scene. They went in to the 2018 world cup as one of the favourites, not because of mbappe.
He scored 3 that tournament, greizzman I believe scored 4.
Griezmann was the star man in 2016 for them as well, the tournaments top scorer as they was runner ups to a dogged and determined Portugal.
A tournament that mbappe wasn't even playing senior international games at.

He's certainly grown in to a phenomenal force for them over the years. But to suggest France rely on him or is built just for his pace exploits is very silly to think. They're much more than that and then some.

I wouldn't have Dembele in my 5's team when I played football at Glasgow Green. Fukin' awful player

 

They're not the team they were on 2018 though, they've regressed a lot in my opinion. Lost Pogba, Kante's older, no Giroud or prime Varane. Griezmann's a different player now too, not the match winner he was in 2016/18. The way they play now with the squad they have relies so so heavily on Mbappe. They sit back and hit on transitions using his pace and quality. They don't have anyone who can even adequately replace him and don't play a system that can adjust to him being out.

 

No space to run in behind at 5's..
