I'm going by the figures posted above by @celtic warrior. If he is right, 1313 minutes is roughly equivalent to just 14 and a half games all season. What's that? Roughly a quarter of a season's worth of games all season? However, even that's an overestimate of the opportunity he's had IMO, as I've been arguing that substitute appearances aren't really as helpful for development as starts.

He's also not a youth prospect. He's at a stage where he needs games to have a chance of making it. We should think Ajer or Scales rather than youth prospects.

Edited to correct a factual error in my original post.

I thought Iwata was shocking in that period, mate. I was as keen to see him as anyone before that period; but I thought he was really poor and went right off him. He is tidy on the ball, but his movement is poor and his awareness is very poor. Similar things could be said about Oh, I know; the difference is that Iwata is his prime, he's not going to develop.

All I say now is, Oh will go on to have a better career outside Celtic than Pukki... who actually did relatively well at Norwich.

I know that is damning with faint praise bit it doesn't seem like fans will ever take to him.

Rodgers doesn't want him by all accounts. So hopefully he gets a good loan, gets into double figures for that club and then can net us a good £3mill-£5mill transfer fee

The way you have used the stats here doesnt really give the full context.

To see the picture more clearly, you should also provide total shots and shots on target also, as conversion rate is quite an important stat for a striker.

Oh had the benefit of being settled into the team and style of play. To include Idahs performance at Norwich in a comparison vs Oh isnt really a fair indicator.
There could of been a variety of variables which may have affected his performance at Norwich.

What you cant tell about stats is Idahs is all round play which for me is a lot better and more polished than Ohs

Which is plenty for a second choice striker who is developing.

I’m not saying he’s the worst striker, but he’s nowhere near good enough to be relied upon and he’s had plenty of opportunities to show it.

Sub appearances aren’t as useful as starts, but he’s got to show something from the bench when he gets an opportunity. Don’t forget the manager sees him in training too. He’s been with us for a year and a half and has managed 12 goals and rarely been trusted to start.

We’ve seen him play for us for 46 appearances. Even though some of those are shorter sub appearances, that’s enough to make a judgement on him. He’s just not got it.

It could well be true that your judgement of him is sound and it's a fair point that Rodgers has seen him in training; however I personally don't feel so sure. It's clear to all that he's not good enough now; but I don't think I've seen enough to say with confidence that he never will be. Moreover, I just don't think he's had enough game time to develop and I think it's worth sending him out on loan to give him that chance. If he goes somewhere and gets 50 games instead of the equivalent of 14, we'll have a much better idea about what potential he does or doesn't have.

I won't be shocked if he never does reach a level where he could be a starter for us; but I also don't feel confident in ruling it out. I don't see what we lose by sending on loan somewhere he'll get game time and seeing what happens.

boys an absolute machine on FM but quite clearly doesn't cut it here. :56:Shame really I liked him but just hasn't got enough for what we need. Think he will go on to have a decent career though.

I heard rumours.. prolly nothing to them tho but I heard Joe Hart wore an English top also!

Happens every year tho, soon as the fitba stops folks go into overdrive looking for something to moan about no matter how trivial (or imaginary in other cases).., Me?, I'd rather look for stuff to be happy about. :50:

Cant afford to invest anymore time with him, had his chance, not taken. Cut losses, take whatever we can get and move on.

I think Hart had every reason to be wearing an Engerlund tap :56:

I really like Oh but he’s never gonna be our star striker.

I’d loan him to an SPL team just on the off chance he hits form.

He easily hit 20 goals in spfl with regular game time.

If that turns out to be a loan, that would be a cracking move for him, so long as he gets the game time.

Good league standard and could do well for confidence.

If a permanent, I'd be sad about that because I feel like Genk wouldn't be paying much more than what we did to get him in the first place meaning we probably look at a break even transfer fee wise.

I'd hope it's a loan because I think if he can get a good run of games there and notch up 15+ plus goals, we could maybe get £4mill for him from someone else.
