Yes a superb sound that is, none finer. And to think as recently as back in the 1980s the Great Spotted woodpecker was still a rare visitor to the Emerald Isle, now a solid breeder of course Johnie, and we all salute that with big smiles on our faces:50:

A fine sound alright, it's strange how a small thing like hearing it can give your mood such a lift, something else that gave me a wee lift this morning, i always bring a bag of bird seed with me when i'm out for my morning walk around Hazelwood, i had the pleasure of a Great * eating out of my hand, he had no fear at all fluttering down and picking a half peanut before flying off to breakfast, i'll try and take a pic the next time he comes for a treat.:50:

:84: Went into garden at 6am to feed the birds, bit of a delay as I took feeders down to wash them a few days ago, this the biggest delay ever:40:

Anyway birds happy now, sparrows chattering with each other that food is back. I have heard a drumming Woodpecker in my nearby local woods (much be catching Johnie :84:). I have also heard a singing Blackcap in my garden, can hear herring gulls, greenfinch and wood pigeon, oh and Magpie.
It is 6.37am now Ruby Roo is asleep dreaming in my bed and a bit later this morning we will be going on a fine early spring walk hoping to get some cool spring migrant birds such as Wheatear, Willow Warbler and if very lucky Ring Ouzel.

I've said that many times Johnie. The Sounds of nature can calm down anyone, at any time. I've did it myself Johnie. Just sat in a park, my garden etc and just listened to nature. Superb way to spend a day, hour, even a quick 10 minutes.

Hope you're lucky with the Ring Ouzel good friend. It's a bird I've never seen. Thought I saw one once at Vane Farm in Perthshire. Turned out it was a Starling with strange colouring. So near yet so far

Finn and myself found a great bench on the river Thames to watch the Red Kites circle and swoop above us. 368d214f-2d3f-43be-aafc-fa01d28ba12d.jpeg 9d8273c4-90e0-40c1-a583-ac3a14f8f7d9.jpeg a6f60ebf-7cd2-41c4-8afe-8e80ed4d68ff.jpeg 9d2252de-d67e-47c5-8563-1555180b9555.jpeg

This morning I heard my first Willow Warbler of the year singing outside my bedroom window. What a lovely priceless sound.

Cheered me up as I massacred the red wine last night and with that lost an hour with the clocks:56:

Oh Ruby Roo joined me for a hug as well:49:
