The Worry Cure. By Dr. Robert L. Leahy.

I hope it gets better because the first few chapters are making me feel worse than I did before starting the book.

Just finished The Life and Crimes of Don King.

I knew he was a * but I didn’t realise the extent of it. Mental he was let away with it for so long.

Great book. I’ve been meaning to watch the film since reading it.

I love his books. I’m currently half way through “At End of Day” by him, which was the last one he wrote. As expected I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

Has anyone read the Slough House series by Mick Herron? I've been watching Slow Horses on Apple TV and it's * excellent, show is based on the book series mentioned.

I loved spy type books back when I was an avid reader and suspect this series will be one I'd enjoy, so just was looking for anyone here that has read it to get their opinion.

    Will read it regardless.

aye I’ve read first five books, just finished, ‘Joe Country’, I was told Herron was the new Le Carre, which he certainly isn’t. Decent reads but must admit I was scimming paragraphs on books 2 and 3, but give them a go, had about four/five proper belly laugh's at some scenes

aye the laughing I mentioned was around him and things he says and does, I’m waiting on tv series finishing to watch in one session, they’re definitely worth a read but I didn’t race through them like I would Le Carre or Connolly

Finished Catherine Ryan Howard's Rewind. It's the third book I have read from the Cork author and I am really enjoying her crime thrillers and liked this one a lot. Unlike some other crime writers she at least in the books I have read creates stand alone books rather then having a main character.

Finished Adam Goodhearts 1861 A Civil War Awakening. The premise (which sounded interesting) being from the view of various Americans of all walks of life how the American Civil War got started. It had its moments but overall I found it uninteresting really.

Finished Pronto by Elmore Leonard. Find his stories a little slow paced, but I enjoy them anyway because he writes great characters.

Started Mystic River by Dennis Lehane today. Love the film and only just discovered he’s also written a few other books that were made into films I like so will probably give a few of his a bash. Enjoying this one so far.

Leonard and Lehane, two of my favourite authors, Lehane especially as well as loads of his books being turned into films, he’s also wrote for The Wire, Boardwalk Empire two of my favourite tv series, dive in Saul you won’t regret it and try Leonards westerns again Hombre was made into a film but my favourite is. ‘Valdez is coming’, brilliant
