He's got a lot of quality..

Isn't polished but he really is a handful and will only keep improving for us I think as the season goes on..

I don't wanna see that 2 up top anymore. Either Idah starts til Kyogo hits form or Idah starts out wide in a front 3 and drifts in with Kyogo as the 9..

Two excellent finishes from the big man..

Same. But we should know a lot more by the end of the season.

Been impressed with Idah, but was the same with Oh and for me he's just not impressed this season at all. If we do buy Idah I'd assume Oh gets sold.

We'd still need a 3rd striker, I think too often we've had 2 strikers and it's not really paid off. If one is out injured or in a continental tournament we have struggled, and the striker struggles due to lack of rest.

Sure. Just don't think Oh would be the 3rd. He needed to continue and improve from last season to stay and he's not.

People might say loan him out, but then we'd still need a 3rd striker, as you pointed out, so not seeing too much in that option either.

I'd be keen to give Vata the 3rd striker spot, but only if he bulks up a bit. Not talking a big strong type striker, but at least strong enough to compete at set pieces and hold the ball up.

On-loan Celtic striker Adam Idah is open to a potential permanent move to the club in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old has started his time at Parkhead in red-hot form, scoring four goals in four Scottish Premiership appearances.

Idah scored twice from the bench on Sunday (25 February) to spearhead a late comeback for Celtic, who ran out 3-1 winners away at Motherwell.

He joined the Hoops on loan from Norwich for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign on transfer deadline day earlier this month (1 February).

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Idah would be open to signing at Celtic permanently in the off-season.

It is believed the potential to play in the Champions League is a “big draw” for the 23-year-old

However, the Glasgow giants did not negotiate a buy option in the loan agreement with Norwich.

The Republic of Ireland international striker was struggling for game time under Canaries boss David Wagner.

He had scored seven goals in 34 games in the first half of the season but was not starting regularly for the Norfolk side.

Idah came through the ranks with the Carrow Road club and has scored 17 goals in 115 senior appearances in England

He has started in three of his five Celtic appearances to date, scoring four and assisting one as the Hoops fight Rangers for the Scottish Premiership title.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are now two points behind their bitter rivals with two Old Firm games remaining this term.

He's like Giakoumakis plain and simple. Using his mass to get into positions and bully defenders. Glad he is proving his doubters wrong. And I know the Irish/Celtic fan connection doesn't mean much to most, but really IT DOES. It gives him the added push knowing him and his family and friends are supporters of the club and how much it means to win a fixture. Can't wait to see him in the OF game

As others have said, it's far too early to be discussing permanent deals, need him to keep up this form until the end of the season.

So far, I think he's been great though, exactly what we've been missing since Giakoumakis left.

4 goals and 1 assist in his first 4 games for us is some going tbf. Especially considering how poor we’ve been playing and lack of chances created. Needs to be starting and hopefully he keeps knocking them in. Definitely suits the system more and is such a handful for defenders

That was a smashing header, top class. Definitely someone I wouldn't mind signing to have in the squad. Seems like he could be a confidence player. Now he's settled in and scoring and getting some love, Celtic might be the club for him.

Aye, I agree with this. Very easy to get excited and think of permanent deals when players are playing well.

I want him to really bully defenders. Use his physicality more and let them know they're in for a rough game.

I've liked what I've seen, surprisingly.

Gutted we don't have the safety net of a buy clause.

He must be loving it here though. Hit the ground running and played more minutes than he has in his whole Norwich career.

I'm not seeing the giakoumakis comparisons, personally.

For me, Giakoumakis lacked a lot on the ball and his hold up play was iffy as a result. It had a tendency to bounce off him. Idah looks better already in that respect and there's been numerous times he's also drifted wide and looked to dribble or take on a man, again, not something Giak offered.

The two one touch finishes aside, I'd say they're quite different, despite their size. Would say Giakoumakis definitely used his physicality more in terms of just ruffling * up. Maybe Idah will do that as we go on.

Giakoumakis wasn't great with penalties either.

You will be waiting a very long time to see Idah play in the fixture you referenced there seeing as that does not exist. It will be interesting to see how he plays in the next derby against the zombies though!

Realistically in any case the amont of money Norwich are likely to ask for him will be too much for the level Idah is at given the inflated prices down south.

His goalscoring record has been quite poor in his career so far down south.

The fact he’s banging them in for us, will surprise no one watching him in England, as they all think our league is pish - and they’re probably right in fairness. So I don’t think it will inflate his price much tbh.

I hope he keeps banging them in for us, completely humiliating any of these gobshites who think the likes of kyogo is the modern day Larsson (seriously who the * can still say that with a straight face? lol) and then snap him up as our main man for next season.

There’s enough money in the coffers to buy him, and we might even be able to punt Kyogo to some club in Europe with more money than sense.

Either way, Kyogo needs to go-go… he’s approaching 30, Idah is 23 - much better age and Idah is a better player for the team with his athleticism etc.

Hey thanks Alan, always very thought provoking to read your insightful inputs. :57:

We could do with him turning up against some of the other teams in the league that we’re struggling to beat at the minute… hopefully Idah will step up to the plate for us, otherwise we can wave goodbye to our league crown!
