He was fantastic today, should be starting mid-week and against Hearts.

 

Once again proving he’s by far our best sitting mid, was harsh to sub him but suppose he needs to build his fitness up again.

 

Should definitely keep him in the team midweek. I don’t care if it’s Dundee at home and we could get away with a more attacking minded player in the team. He needs to get a fair crack of the whip and minutes in his legs before Hearts away where his physicality and defensive awareness will be much needed.

 

Was neat and tidy and was growing right into the game when he was hooked.

 

He reminds me of Joe Ledley. Rarely in the spotlight but gives the team so much with positioning, pressing etc.

 

Got marked pretty close early on, but gradually found more space and influence. Very neat performance.

 

Not sure how strictly they distinguish between an interception and recovery, or even how accurate they are, but here ya go:

 

He does read the game very well. Overall had a very solid return to the team today.

 

Starting to look like the player we hoped he would be. We need his type for the CL. Tank Iwata can’t be dropped for Bernardo or Hatate.

 

What I liked about him is twice in the 2nd half he gave the ball away but immediately showed desire to win it back and did so within seconds.

 

He was constantly talking to the centre backs and giving directions, he likes to take control and is a calming influence in front of the defence, also covered Taylor when he was bombing forward or going inside. I'd imagine that was tactical, but tomoki is very good at reading the game and thinking ahead .

 

Oriley should be gone when summer comes which will free up space

Our best performances this season have been when he’s been allowed to take charge of the midfield. Has to start most of our games going forward.

 

What we’ve missed in recent games is when the opposing team lumps the ball up, and our defending player (mostly McGregor or scales) comes to win it. We’d be losing out on that 2nd ball as an attacker would always be reading it and getting on to it. Today iwata read all of those and picked it up, calmed us down and regained us possession. He makes our attacking play work. Unless there’s an injury again he needs to play every week now

 

boys a player. him and Kwon to battle it out for the DM spot next year?

 

I like what I've seen from him every time he's played. Hope to see more of him and he can get even better with more regular minutes I'd reckon.

 

We're on another level when he plays. When Hatate is back, we'll improve further.
