As you know i am a massive Animal lover, but this XL Bully has the bulk of people killed by dogs in the last 3 years, yet they are only 1% of dogs out there. That fact is enough.

    I don't disagree mate.What's the answer then?

    Stricter dog owning laws imo.

The dogs are not the problem.

I know what what you mean but with the XL Bully when people .uck up other people or dogs die and also this type of dog has some of the blame in the fact the way they have turned on their own owners or family who have been responsible is frightening. Let alone the * owners of this breed or type.

I am a huge animal lover and have spoken to countless others on this subject and the vast majority are very concerned about this type of dog. We all know too many people should never own a dog and this breed or type have killed too many times in the ratio of their numbers.

But i agree totally in the main with the whole dog world, people are the main problem not dogs.

Although I would be in favour of stricter ownership laws for dogs - mainly to help prevent animal cruelty - the bolded is where we disagree.

The breed is simply physically more dangerous, and mentally more aggressive, than any animal I would be happy to have in a public space.

And what environment did those dogs grow up in? Should we not ensure no dog of any breed goes to an unsuitable home. We took these animals from primitive wolves and shaped them to our necessities. Now because they are deemed dangerous by the very people that made them what they are we should just discard them and destroy their existence. Over the generations these dogs have served their owners and unfortunately many of them end up being treated unfairly and grow up in a life of cruelty. That’s the greatest crime, but it’s usually overlooked due to society valuing their existence more important than a dogs.

See if you want a massive fierce ugly looking dog I’d reckon 9 times out of 10 you’re either a bam or a *

See - German shepherds, rottweilers, Staffies, bulldogs, etc.

At some point it's not the animals fault.

The problem is this breed or type have turned on owners who have brought them up correctly. Humans are to blame for the vast majority of dog problems, But this type or Breed is a worry. And i simply love dogs.

Apparently, over half of all UK fatalities as a result of dog attacks since 2021 have come from XL Bully’s though.

If that’s accurate, then they’re killing more people than German shepherds, rottweilers, Staffies, bulldogs, etc combined.

People are without doubt to blame for most problems involving dogs, but with the XL Bully it is unique in the fact it itself shoulders some of the blame.

I remember actually when a previous border collie I had was a puppy, he would display a really strong herding instinct. He’d never laid eyes on a sheep, or had any training, but already displayed the traits he was bred to portray.

I terms of XL bully’s, that trait is aggression, sadly. I do agree that people are at fault, but moreso to the extent that they should never have been bred in the first place.

Mammals are products of their environments.

    Don't give a * what anyone says.

    Here’s an analogy for you

If you sell a fire arm to another civilian without a license or permit and that civilian used the gun to kill someone in a fit of rage, both the vendor and shooter should go to prison as they committed a crime. The Gun is safe if used by trained professionals carrying the correct permit

A large dog like a bully should be seen in the same light. If Handled by responsible owner and purchased through recognised breeders, checks done on the new owner and gaining a licence to own the dog we would overcome the issues with the backyard breeding.

The focus should be on those who breed irresponsibly and the law should treat them in the same way as selling weapons, allowing backyard breeding to continue in any dogs and selling them to unlicensed owners should be considered a criminal act.

I know, i surprise myself in my reaction to this breed or type, i think above all we know as fact the vast majority of dog incidents are down to people, but people have bred this dog to cause such deep thinking, and now this dog is a threat, down to people. What a horrible mess, i look at my Boxer Ruby Roo and hate this subject.

Sean it is people really, but this breed or type like no other has turned on it's own loved ones, down to people breeding it in the first place, so yes people are to blame:50:
