Nicolas Kühn

It's far too early to write him off, but my first impression is that he doesn't really look any better than we have.

I mean it was pretty obvious this guy wasn't going to be a superstar. He came from a * league for a very low fee and hasn't done anything in his career really.

Folk were getting ahead of themselves because he was a member of Bayern's and Ajax's youth systems, plenty of players are though.

One of the only things that seemed positive about him signing was his dribbling ability. Outwith Yang, we literally have no ball carriers in the team.

My thought about him before signing was that he was a run of the mill winger, nothing special, but has some potential to improve and be a decent squad player. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

 

Deserves a bit of credit for scoring v Aberdeen and helping us avoid defeat.

Other than that I feel he needs to starting showing a bit more in games.

 

Think he'll be fine once he gets a bit of confidence around him. He's not got that natural confidence palma has. Can see him being fire when happy and settled.

 

Get him written off and see if we can get some of the money back. Been sold a white elephant.

 

Agree, we shouldn't be spending £3m on players that aren't any better than what we have. Especially in wide areas where we are well covered.

 

I was expecting him to be fast and direct and we may still see that..

We can't make any real assessment after 1 start and 2 sub appearances tho.. he may prove to be better than what we have.

 

Reading comments of his previous clubs forum he looks exactly what they said of him. That he is quick but offers little end product and doesn't score enough. Your right, 2 games isn't enough to make a real assessment, but he needs to show an awful lot more and I would say he is behind Palma and Maeda, and possibly Abada (if he gets his head right). For the money spent I would expect much more to come.

 

Wyscout had him as being in top 12 chance creators in world football this season, 7 assists in 22 games for rapid too and has 1 goal for us in less than game and a half so really don't get the "no end product" comments that fan's seem desperate to latch onto

 

Realistically it might take him until next season to settle in if the team isn't playing well.

For us, that's obviously unacceptable. It's not his fault but it's the position the recruitment team have put us in by bringing in so many raw players that aren't ready.

 

I think the jury is still on him at the moment with a lot of our fans however, I can't help getting those "we've signed another mediocre player" type worries

 

This was fans at his old clubs take on him. I fear they may be right, but we will see. Not sure Rodgers fancies him too much either.

 

Ridiculously early to make any real assessment of him.

 

I think their was number of targets put through by lawell and Rodgers has went on this one because of the elite club background … leipzig and Bayern … and it’s been a disaster

Well given the stats it seems pretty unfounded and sounds like sour grapes from fans that are * hurt that he's left.

 

They weren't disappointed to see him go and were happy at the price.

But yeah, what do fans know eh?

 

He's made three appearances. A total of 122 minutes game time.

I'd like to think the jury hasn't made its decision yet.

Well I've already nailed my colours to the mast and I'm hoping that he's still being affected by the serious dental issue he had that prevented him from eating for a few weeks.
It can take time for the loss of weight and loss of energy to be rectified.
Add to that a new club, new country and a new culinary experience.

"Ok Nic you can eat what you want now, we've got haggis or deep fried Mars bars"

So I'm thinking- hoping- we haven't seen anything like the best yet.

 

He has also literally come on as sub in a tough game away and scored. Absolutely wild takes that he isn't up to it. People are just looking for anything now because most of our recruitment recently hasn't be great.
